Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited former President Donald Trump to tour the front lines of his country’s war against Russia.

The Ukrainian leader appeared recently at the Munich Security Conference alongside Vice President Kamala Harris as the war in Ukraine nears its second anniversary later this month. Zelenskyy extended the GOP frontrunner an invitation to visit the war-torn nation.

“If Mr. Trump will come, I am ready even to go with him to the front line,” Zelenskyy said on Saturday where his comments were met by applause.

He added, “I think if we are in dialogue how to finish the war, we have to demonstrate people who are decision-makers, what does it mean — the real war. Not on Instagram — the real war.”

Zelenskyy claimed he has offered this invitation to Trump in the past but that the visit’s success depended on the former president accepting it.

“I invited him publicly but it depends on his wishes,” Zelenskyy concluded. He also encouraged leading candidates from both political parties to visit Ukraine.

In recent weeks, Trump has been critical of NATO’s support for Ukraine and advocated against sending additional military and financial aid to Ukraine. He demanded GOP lawmakers vote no on a $95 billion legislative package that would provide Ukraine and Israel with assistance.

Moreover, the war in Ukraine has intensified as Ukrainian forces withdrew from the front-line city of Avdiivka after failing to repel Russian attacks in the eastern region.
