Fox News host Mark Levin bucked the MAGA line on additional U.S. military aid to Ukraine on Monday evening by laying out the stakes for U.S. national security in stark terms.

“Russia is gaining on Ukraine, which is running out of certain crucial weaponry and having to pull back from areas it had controlled, and faces losing the war Russia started,” Levin began, offering a straightforward update on the state of play in the war.

“Is that okay with everyone?” Levin asked, seeming to acknowledge the growing isolationism within his own party.

“ Ukraine is a relatively small country without the capacity for a large industrial economy in which it can build the needed weapons. This is not theoretical. This is reality. NATO countries border Ukraine. And if Putin moves on any of them, then what? He has said in the past that he is eyeing Poland, Romania, and the Balkan states. This is a grave situation,” Levin concluded raising the prospect of the U.S. entering a battle to defend NATO allies against Russia.

Former President Donald Trump and his allies in Congress are adamantly opposed to passing a foreign aid spending bill that would send some $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The GOP-led House has refused to bring the bill to the floor for a vote despite strong bipartisan support for the measure.

Levin offered his take on the war hours before the prime minister of Estonia announced her country “successfully stopped a hybrid operation by Russia’s security services on our territory.”

“We know the Kremlin is targeting all of our democratic societies. Our answer: be open and reveal their methods. This is the way to deter harmful actions and make us resilient,” added PM Kaja Kallas. Estonia joined NATO in March of 2004.
