Jen Psaki — former White House Press Secretary under President Joe Biden — fumed over media coverage of her old boss following Thursday’s devastating special counsel report and subsequent news conference gaffe.

During a roundtable discussion on Meet the Press Sunday, Psaki — now an MSNBC host — argued that Trump’s various comments in recent days should have dominated the headlines this week, not the special counsel’s report.

“If you’re sitting in the White House and on the campaign right now, you’re absolutely banging your head against the wall at the way that the Thursday report has been covered,” Psaki said. “Given all of the things that have happened this week, including … the fact that Donald Trump yesterday suggested that Vladimir Putin should have free rein in attacking NATO allies. And what do we see when we wake up this morning? Wall-to-wall coverage of whether a guy who’s four years older than his opponent is too old to be president.”

NBC’s Kristen Welker went on to ask Psaki about a Washington Post report about certain top Democrats wanting Biden to be replaced atop the 2024 ticket. The former press secretary completely dismissed that chatter.

What the Biden campaign needs right now is for people to realize that … he is going to be the nominee,” Psaki said. “This is the choice.”
