Laura Ingraham Defends Kanye West From Don Lemon, Retaliates With Clips of CNN Host Drunk on NYE
Laura Ingraham defended Kanye West from what she thought was a “nasty” attack from CNN host Don Lemon.
On Thursday night, Lemon went after the rapper, calling his explanation of why he supports President Donald Trump “word salad” and said while he’s entitled to his own opinion is “not very bright.”
“When it comes to these issues, he’s not clued in,” Lemon told his panel. “He needs to read about it before he speaks about it.”
He later clarified that he didn’t mean to say that West wasn’t a “bright person,” but still urged him to “look at a book” and “read some history” in order to be informed on the issues.
Well, that didn’t sit well with the Fox News host.
“I mean, that’s pretty condescending coming from Don Lemon, who himself has had a few wobbly moments,” Ingraham reacted.
She then retaliated by showing a montage of not-so-flatting moments of the CNN host, including clips of his drunken appearance on CNN’s New Years Eve special in 2016 as well as the time he floated the “black hole” conspiracy theory when reporting on the missing Malaysian airplane back in 2014.
Conservative radio show host Kevin Jackson joined in on the pile-on.
“You don’t have to have Don Lemon being drunk to showcase his lunacy. Just watch his program any night!” Jackson told Ingraham. “Look, at the end of the day, when you look at what he said about Kanye West, he’s trying to correct a grown man who dare have an opinion that differs from his.”
