Diddy Posts Apology After Video Shows Violent Attack On Cassie Ventura: ‘I Was F**ked Up’
Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs sent out an apology video on Sunday morning for his “inexcusable” beating his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016 – an allegation he has long denied.
After footage of the incident came out last week, Diddy posted a video saying that the incident was during one of the “darkest times” in his life. “I hit rock bottom,” he said.
The footage, which was obtained by CNN and released Friday, showed Diddy grabbing, shoving, dragging, and hitting his Ventura near an elevator at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, on March 5th, 2016.
Ventura had previously launched a lawsuit at Diddy regarding accusations of graphic abuse, including a claim that he raped in 2018. However, the pair reached a settlement a day after she filed her lawsuit.
“It’s so difficult to reflect the darkest times in your life. Sometimes you got to do that. I was fucked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. Disgusted,” Diddy told his followers on Instagram.

He added, “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I had to go into therapy. I’m going to rehab. Had asked God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man. And every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. Truly sorry.”
After the video of the beating was released, Ventura’s lawyer Douglas H. Wigdor released a statement calling Diddy’s actions “disturbing and predatory.”
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” he noted. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
