Fox News host Greg Gutfeld mocked anti-Israel college protesters as the “most hilarious” in history, saying never before have so many who contributed so little demanded so much. But he also said the “comedy” distracts from how “hateful they really are.”

On the lastest Gutfeld! on Fox News friday, the late-night host called out the demonstrators as “the most hilarious protest in history” before noting that the students, who are “physically and spiritually sick,” represent the “spores of October 7th.”

Over the last month, college protesters and local activists have begun protesting against the war between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza legion by demanding the U.S. stop supporting Israel.

The nationwide protests at prominent universities, such as UCLA and Columbia, have led to Democrats and Republicans denouncing the demonstrators as “anti-Semitic.”

They’re so used to having their demands catered to. They literally now demand catering. Never before have people who contributed so little demanded so much. And so this may be the most hilarious protest in history, but in this comedy, it’s easy to forget how hateful they really are. So let’s do some reminding. When you have an ideology that encourages the execution of gays and unmarried girls who aren’t virgins, we can say that to evil. It’s obvious because it’s brutal and it causes suffering.

But there’s something just as evil. And it’s the intent, the pleasure and the certitude driving those evil acts. Now, we aren’t seeing these acts on campus, obviously, but what you are seeing in those faces and voices are the seeds of them. The certitude, the blind dogma, the impulse for retribution, the spores of October 7th. It’s why you can’t equate Islamophobia with anti-Semitism.

And this helps answer why the protesters seem so naive yet angry, ignorant but deadly certain, passionate, but also deeply unwell. They are physically and spiritually sick, for they are operating from the manual of a punitive ideology. And I don’t mean Islam, I mean another iteration of Marxism that simply absorbs new allies. They don’t wish to progress, but to punish. So as we scan these images, you see a profound ugliness. It’s not just the appearances. It’s the souls. And that’s no laughing matter.
