WATCH: Elizabeth Warren Says She’ll Take ‘Hard Look’ at Running For President After Midterms
Well this was a given… Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the progressive Democrat from Massachusetts, said at a town hall on Saturday that she will consider running for president in 2020 after the midterm elections.
“I watched powerful men helping a powerful man make it to an even more powerful position,” Warren said at the event in Holyoke, Massachusetts. “And I thought, ‘Time’s up.’ It’s time for women to go to Washington and fix our broken government and that includes a woman at the top.”
“After November 6, I will take a hard look at running for president,” she said. The announcement drew a rapturous standing ovation.

Warren is considered a top contender for the Democratic nominee for president in 2020. Her high profile has earned her scorn from President Donald Trump, who derisively refers to her as “Pocahontas” — a mocking reference to her claims to Native American heritage.
The Boston Globe has a good roundup of the moves Warren camp has been taking that signals she’s getting serious about a 2020 run. As CNN put it in their ranking of 2020 Democratic contenders: “She’s running.”
