On Saturday, President Donald Trump traveled to West Virginia to hold a Make America Great Again rally in Wheeling.
Trump is in the Mountain State to campaign on behalf of Patrick Morrisey. The Republican challenger is engaged in a tough midterm fight to unseat Democratic incumbent Senator Joe Manchin.
Speaking about Trump’s visit, Morrisey said on Friday, “I believe the president knows the road to the Senate Majority goes through West Virginia.”
Trump’s rally comes amid continuing controversy over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as well as lingering concerns about the future of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
His appearance in West Virginia also kicks off a blitz of rallies in Trump-friendly states during the coming week.
