Fox News senior correspondent Mike Tobin reached the summit of Mount Everest last week and planted a Fox News flag at the peak.
Tobin said he climbed the mountain in order to raise awareness for veteran and first responder suicide.
He shared video clips on X showing the moment he reached the top, including a set of 22 push-ups — a symbolic gesture for the estimated number of US veterans and first responders who die by suicide each day.
“On Tuesday, May 27 approximately 6:30 am, along with my Alpenglow climbing team and Pasang ‘Piso’ Sherpa, I reached the summit of Mount Everest,” he commented. “Just got down, starting the trip home.”

“To troubled warfighters and public servants: I hope it shows someone gives a damn,” Tobin wrote.

The longtime war correspondent later appeared on America’s Newsroom, where anchors Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer praised him for the achievement.
Tobin joined live from China and reflected on the grueling preparation and the emotional impact of the journey, and the cause he was trying to bring attention to.
Training for the climb included running sandbag-laden drills on the Indiana sand dunes while juggling his day job.
Tobin said conditions on summit day were ideal, describing it as one of the best weather windows in 20 years. While other climbers suffered frostbite, Tobin’s team avoided any injuries.
“I was spooked coming down the Second Step,” he said of coming down. “That was spooky.”
He said some critics online dismissed the Everest push-up video as a “stunt,” but Tobin said his motives were sincere.
“I hope that a troubled guy out there somewhere who was looking at suicide as a reasonable response to his troubles will realize that someone took the time to do that in a perilous situation and reconsider before he hurts himself,” he said.
