Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) had some choice words for President Donald Trump after the commander in chief rejected the notion of calling the governor in the wake of shootings of Democratic figures that rocked the state.

“Governor Walz wishes that President Trump would be a President for all Americans, but this tragedy isn’t about Trump or Walz,” a spokesman for the governor, Teddy Tschann, said in a statement to CNN’s Kaitlin Collins. “It’s about the Hortman family, the Hoffman family, and the State of Minnesota, and the Governor remains focused on helping all three heal.”

Walz’s statement came hours after Trump told Collins aboard Air Force One that he refused to call Walz in the wake of the shootings, going so far as to imply it was a waste of time.

“I’m not calling him,” Trump said. “Why would I call him? I could call him and say, ‘Hi, how are you doing?’ The guy doesn’t have a clue. He’s a mess. So, you know, I could be nice to call him, but why waste time?

The Minnesota shooting spree claimed the lives of Rep. Melissa Hortman, the former Speaker of the Minnesota House, and her husband, Mark Hortman, who were gunned down in their Brooklyn Park home.

The gunman also entered the Champlin home of State Sen. John Hoffman, and his wife, Yvette Hoffman, who were also shot and wounded.

Cops have arrested Vance Boelter in the shootings that gripped America. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office called him “the face of evil” in a Facebook post announcing the arrest.
