Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) confirmed details to CNN about a closed door meeting between former President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers, and she gushed about the president being “so sweet” after saying hello to her.

Greene spoke with CNN congressional correspondent Lauren Fox on Thursday following reports indicating that Trump said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is doing a “great job” just after Greene’s effort to oust him was killed in the House. Trump reportedly touched on a number of topics including his potential second term and abortion. Greene said he was “joking constantly with everyone” in the room.

Greene called the talk “one of my favorite speeches,” and she also claimed the former president told Johnson he needs to be “tougher” in the House because of his slim majority.

“He saw me in there and he was like, ‘Hello, Marjorie.’ He’s always so sweet and recognizes me and he said, ‘are you being nice?'” Greene told CNN. “He was joking, ‘Are you being nice to Speaker Johnson?’ And I said, ‘ehhhh,’ and he said, ‘okay, be nice to him,’ and I nodded my head.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) also revealed some details about the Trump meeting, writing on X, formerly Twitter, that the former president was “trashing” billions in aide going to Ukraine when it should be going to “our troops.”

“He says we should pay OUR TROOPS more instead of sending $60b to Ukraine,” Gaetz wrote. “Trump trashing the Ukraine Aid to [Speaker Johnson’s] face is so epic.”
