Secret Service and U.S. Park Police reporidely retreated from a park near the White House after being surrounded by pro-Palestine protesters on Saturday.

Protesters surrounded the White House with banners protesting U.S. support for Israel amid their war with Hamas in Gaza. Demonstrators repeatedly chanted slogans rejecting a two-state solution and called for an “intifada” across D.C., while condemning President Joe Biden for supporting “genocide.”

Moreover, a mob of protesters eventually encircled Park Police and Secret Service near Lafayette Square in front of the White House. Police retreated from the area as protesters continued to chant slogans such as “fuck the police!” and “kill yourself!”

Reporter Julio Rosas wrote on X, “Anti-Israel protesters formed a mob and chased US Park Police and Secret Service out of Lafayette Square after officers apparently tried to arrest someone. Police are no longer inside the park and are on the boundaries of the protest: “F*ck the police!”

Throughout the protesters held signs that read, ““We don’t want no two state, we’re taking back ’48” and ““the red line should have been 1948.”

Biden has received criticism from members of his own party and other progressives for continuing to provide Israel military and financial aid as it continues fighting Hamas. Some progressives have threaten to not vote for Biden this November in the election if he does not take a more aggressive stance against Israel.

Other videos and photos of the protests on the social media showed demonstrators setting off smoke flares as police used pepper spray to tame them.
