A tearful Kevin Spacey told Piers Morgan he’s facing bankruptcy and he has a house in foreclosure due to the “many millions” in legal bills that he owes.

Spacey, a two-time Academy Award winner, joined Morgan for what is the latest in a string of interviews regarding accusations of sexual misconduct against him and his attempts to revive his career. The full interview between Morgan and Spacey will drop on Tuesday evening, but a clip was shared in which Spacey broke down when Morgan asked about his living situation.

“Where do you live now?” Morgan asked.

The actor responded by burying his head for a moment crying.

“Well, it’s funny you asked that question because this week where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on. My house is being sold at auction, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put all of my things in storage. So the answer to that question is I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now, but I’ve been in Baltimore since we started shooting House of Cards,” he said.

Netflix dropped Spacey from House of Cards in 2017 amid numerous accusations of sexual misconduct. Spacey was also edited out of Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World, and a Gore Vidal biopic for Netflix was indefinitely shelved.

Spacey has long maintained his innocence and he’s answered individual accusations in recent interviews, insisting his behavior never crossed over the line of legality. Among the allegations was one from fellow actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey assaulted him when he was a minor. Spacey won a sexual battery lawsuit filed by Rapp in 2022. He also was acquitted of multiple sexual assault charges in the UK in 2023.

In light of these legal victories, some, including Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone, have called for Spacey’s return to the big screen. A new documentary highlighting many of these accusations, Spacey Unmasked, was also recently dropped on the Max streaming service.

According to his chat with Morgan, he needs the work.

“Are you facing bankruptcy?” Morgan asked.

“There have been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file, but we managed to sort of dodge it, at least as of today,” Spacey said.

Asked how much money he has, Spacey claimed he has “none” and he owes “many millions” in legal bills. Spacey has returned to acting, but mainly in smaller-budgeted films like Control and Peter Five Eight.

“What are you going to do?” Morgan asked Spacey.

“Get back on the horse,” he said. “Get back on the horse.”
