‘SILENCE = DEATH’: Pro-Palestinian Protesters Crash Easter Vigil At St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Protesters interrupted an Easter Vigil at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City on Saturday evening, chanting for in support for Palestine.

Thousands of climate and pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in Time Square over the weekend calling for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. The protesters eventually found themselves on Saturday night’s Easter Vigil in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, according to footage posted on social media.

The protesters could be heard chanting, “Free, free Palestine” while holding a banner that read, “SILENCE=DEATH.” The sign also featured the Extinction Rebellion symbol along with an olive tree.

The mass was led by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York. Cathedral members rushed to remove the protesters from the service as other attendees tried ignoring the protests.
