Freedom Caucus Chair Scoffs at Greene’s Motion to Vacate: ‘I Don’t Know Anybody Who Cares’ About What She Has to Say

By News Here - 12:07

The chair of the Freedom Caucus, which once included Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA), scoffed at her motion to vacate Mike Johnson (R-LA) from the House speakership.

Greene said she filed the motion as a “warning” to Johnson who recently negotiated with Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on the $1.2 trillion spending bill that just passed the House. But the Republican response to Greene’s action isn’t as enthusiastic as she may have hoped.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) who led the charge to eject former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said he’s “just not ready to support” another ouster.

Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie said she spoke to Freedom Caucus Chair Mike Good (R-VA), who ousted Greene from the far-right caucus last summer after she fought with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on the House floor. He told Hasnie that no one cares what Greene has to say.

Now, Bob Good, again, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus — it sounds like no one was really aware that this was going to happen this morning — and he told our cameras right as it was happening, that, I am not — He said, “I don’t know anybody who cares about what Marjorie Taylor Greene says.” That’s from Bob Good. So, she’s going to get a little bit of pushback from her own caucus on this. But, again, we are just waiting to see if she actually will make this privilege, and then, we go right back to last fall with this conference has to look for a new speaker.

Earlier, Hasnie explained that Greene has not made the motion “privilege,” meaning that “it’s not live yet. She gets to decide that if it does go live, then the House would be forced to take this up in a matter of two legislative days.”

Congress is headed out on Easter break, so that procedure wouldn’t happen until April at the earliest.

Kayleigh McEnany responded, “Wow. Unbelievable. It would be unprecedented to have two House speakers to be ousted by their own caucus.
