Elon Musk, the controversial billionaire owner of X, slammed the Biden administration in the early hours of Tuesday morning and pushed the so-called “great replacement” conspiracy theory, which has been linked to mass shootings in the U.S.

Musk made the comment in response to a hard right online influencer who posted a DailyMail article titled, “Biden administration ADMITS flying 320,000 migrants secretly into the U.S. to reduce the number of crossings at the border has national security ‘vulnerabilities.’”

“It is obvious to anyone who is not a fool that this administration is deliberately importing vast numbers of illegals,” wrote the Tesla CEO, adding:

No grand conspiracy theory is needed to explain this, just simple incentives: they are far more likely to vote Democrat than Republican.

This is why Dems are constantly pushing to legalize illegals and won’t deport them, even when they are arrested for crime, which otherwise seem … I dunno … like an opportune time

The great replacement conspiracy theory, which has been linked to mass shootings in Buffalo and El Paso, “states that nonwhite individuals are being brought into the United States and other Western countries to ‘replace’ white voters to achieve a political agenda,” according to NPR. The theory is popular among white nationalists, the far-right of American politics, and often has anti-Semitic overtones blaming Jews for trying to “replace” white Americans.

In November of 2023, Musk sparked a firestorm of controversy when he replied, “You have said the actual truth,” to an X user blaming Jews for pushing “hatred against whites” and “flooding” the U.S. with foreigners.

The Biden administration program reported on by the DailyMail was publicly announced in October of 2022 and allows for migrants from four countries to fly into the U.S. if they have sponsorship in the U.S.

“American citizens, residents and others in the U.S. with a legal immigration status are eligible to sponsor migrants from these four countries, as long as they agree to financially support them. Migrants who arrive under the program are granted two-year work permits under the humanitarian parole authority,” reported CBS News at the time.

The program, which was met with immediate lawsuits from Texas and other GOP-led states, allows Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans seeking asylum to apply using an app in order to mitigate the backlog of asylum cases from those countries.

“The sponsor program has been paired with a policy of returning Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who cross the southern border illegally to Mexico, which agreed to take back these nationalities, first under the now-expired Title 42 public health order and now under regular U.S. immigration law,” added CBS News in May 2023
