Former President Donald Trump tested a gag order reimposed on him in the federal election interference case brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith on Monday when he blasted the “team of losers and misfits” coming after him.

“Deranged Jack Smith, Andrew Weissmann, Lisa Monaco, the ‘team of losers and misfits’ from CREW, and all the rest of the Radical Left Zealots and Thugs who have been working illegally for years to ‘take me down,’ will end up, because of their suffering from a horrible disease, TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME (TDS!), in a Mental Institution by the time my next term as President is successfully completed. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” wrote Trump on Truth Social.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan reimposed a gag order prohibiting Trump from publicly targeting prosecutors or potential witnesses in the case at the end of last month. Trump has called the decision to keep it in place as an “unthinkable” abridgement of his “First Amendment Right to Free Speech.”

This would not be the first time that Trump has tested the limits of the order. In a post sent just hours after the gag order was reinstated on October 30, he called his own former Attorney General Bill Barr “Dumb, Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy.”

“I was tough on him in the White House, for good reason, so now this Moron says about me, to get even, ‘his verbal skills are limited.’ Well, that’s one I haven’t heard before. Tell that to the biggest political crowds in the history of politics, by far. Bill Barr is a LOSER!” he continued.

Chutkan has argued that Trump’s “presidential candidacy does not give him carte blanche to vilify public servants who are simply doing their jobs,” and that his attacks might present “a danger to the administration of justice.”
