Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade was mocked by liberal network contributor Leslie Marshall over his defense of Donald Trump’s conspiracy-fueled gaffes about Barack Obama.

Kilmeade and Marshall faced off Sunday on MediaBuzz, where the Fox & Friends host argued Joe Biden is too old to be president any longer. He made this argument while asserting that “People don’t think [Biden’s] making the decisions, and they want to know what unelected officials is behind closed doors making the decisions.”

When Howard Kurtz invited Marshall to give her counterargument, she dismissed concerns about Biden’s age, and she brought up Trump repeatedly mixing up Obama and Biden in recent weeks. Kilmeade countered that by arguing that Trump has not been making gaffes, and that he’s intentionally identifying Obama as the current president because he’s “pulling the strings.”

“He is convinced Barack Obama’s running the country,” Kilmeade said. “That’s why he says it. He wants you to think that.”

Marshall called out Kilmeade immediately for what she deemed to be obvious spin.

“Oh Brian, come on!” Marshall scoffed. She was all smiles as she commented “That’s good. That’s good. You should be his campaign manager. That’s a really good spin on that.”

“It’s not a spin,” Kilmeade retorted. The two continued to lock horns about last week’s off-year election results, and whether Biden’s political situation is really as bad as the polls suggest.
