Lindsey Graham Rips NBC For Running Anonymous Fourth Kavanaugh Accuser: No Wonder People ‘Distrust You’
On Wednesday night, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) knocked NBC for running a story of a new anonymous accuser who came forward with claims against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Graham began by criticizing his colleague Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) for saying it’s Kavanaugh’s “burden” to prove his innocence, calling it the “most disgust thing” he has seen in over 20 years in politics.
“I voted for Sotomayer and Kagan, I can’t imagine me doing to them what y’all are doing to Kavanaugh,” Graham told Fox News anchor Shannon Bream. “I’m disgusted with it. I’m more committed to voting for Kavanaugh than ever. And all of these allegations, to me, just are falling apart.”
Bream then mentioned an allegation that was brought to the attention Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), who then shared it with Graham that accused Kavanaugh of assaulting a woman on a boat in the 1980s and that alleged victim had told one of Whitehouse’s constituents.
Graham praised Whitehouse for handling the allegation the “right way.”
However, he wasn’t as kind to NBC for its report on the alleged fourth accuser by an anonymous person who had written a letter.
“You wonder why we know about it? Because of NBC,” Graham said. “To my friends at NBC, do you know why conservatives distrust you so much? It’s because of stuff like this. You would never print an anonymous letter accusing a liberal nominee of wrongdoing. There’s no journalistic integrity left when it comes to Trump and his nominees. The idea of an a report on an anonymous accusation and give it credibility says all you need to know about where our media is when it comes to Kavanaugh and Trump.”
