The View’s Sunny Hostin trashed Democrats who voted to censure Rep. Al Green (D-TX) over his interruptions to President Donald Trump’s recent address to Congress.

On Friday’s The View, Hostin came ready with a list of the 10 Democrats who joined Republicans in voting to censure Green over his actions. Green was removed from Trump’s speech after repeatedly yelling out, telling the president he did not have a “mandate” to cut Medicaid.

Hostin argued that the country is in an “existential crisis” and claimed Trump’s federal cuts will eventually reach Medicaid and Social Security. Democrats, she said, are “not meeting the moment.” Hostin lamented that today’s Democrats are not more like the “civil rights generation” willing to “fight and die for their rights.”

Behar questioned naming the Democrats who voted to censure Green, asking why they should just focus on criticizing Republicans.

“Why go after them too? Go after the Republicans,” she said.

Hostin then tore into Democrats:

Because they don’t know how to fight and be part of an opposition party. Representative Green gave them the example! The Democrats are not meeting the moment. It is very clear that Medicaid is on the table, it is very clear that Social Security is on the table, it is very clear that people will die. The baby boomers, the civil rights generation, they knew what they had to do. They were willing to fight and die for their rights. This generation of Congress? They are not meeting the moment! This is an existential crisis!

The Democrats who voted to censure Green were Reps. Ami Bera (D-CA), Ed Case (D-HI), Jim Costa (D-CA), Laura Gillen (D-NY), Jim Himes (D-CT), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), and Tom Suozzi (D-NY).

“They should be ashamed of themselves!” Hostin said. “They all should have walked out with him.”
