Legendary comedian and actor Bill Murray said a 1986 book by Bob Woodward about his late friend John Belushi was so inaccurate it left him questioning the former Washington Post journalist’s Watergate reporting.

On The Joe Rogan Experience Saturday, Murray complained about how Belushi was portrayed in Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi.

The book traced “the life of the popular TV comedian and discusses the drug addiction that led to his early death.”

Murray told Joe Rogan that Woodward’s recounting of the Saturday Night Live alum’s life and death was so far from the Mark he was left questioning if former President Richard Nixon had been “framed” by Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

“When I read Wired, the book written by what’s his name? Woodward. About Belushi. I read like five pages of Wired, and I went, ‘Oh my God. They framed Nixon,'” he said.

Murray said inaccuracies in the book’s first few pages made him question everything else Woodward published:

Iif this is what he writes about my friend that I’ve known, you know, for, you know, half of my adult life – which is completely inaccurate, talking to like, the people of the outer outer circle, getting the story – what the hell did that could they have done to Nixon? I just felt like if he did this to my friend like this, and I acknowledge I only read five pages but the five pages I read made me want to set fire to the whole thing.

See if you get those five pages I went. If they if he did this to Belushi, what he did in Nixon’s is probably soiled for me, too. I can’t, I can’t take it. And I know you say, well, you could have two sources and everything like that, but the two sources that he had, if he had them for the Wired book, were so far outside the inner circle that it was it was criminal.

Former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced he is running for mayor in New York City Saturday morning, confirming months of speculation he’d challenge embattled Mayor Eric Adams to lead the city.

Cuomo, who resigned as governor amid a flurry of sexual harassment allegations in 2021, said in a video post on his X page that New York was in “crisis” partially after housing thousands of foreign nationals in recent years.

He argued in a 17-minute video announcement that he would restore order and make people feel safe.

“You see it in the empty storefronts. The graffiti, the grime, the migrant influx, the random violence,” he said. “The city just feels threatening.”

“The city just feels threatening, out of control and in crisis,” he said. “These conditions exist not as an act of God, but rather as an act of our political leaders — or, more precisely, the lack of intelligent action by our political leaders.”

Cuomo said New York City had devolved into a place where citizens eyed one another with suspicion and police officers had been demonized:

We must also restore a relationship of mutual trust and respect between the police and the community. The police have been devalued, and today, people don’t even want to apply to be police officers. That must change.

Opponents of the former governor told Politico ahead of Cuomo’s announcement Saturday that the former governor would be vulnerable given his controversial record:

Cuomo’s orbit of advisers disagrees with that assessment. The former governor, they have argued, is best positioned to address the sustained concerns voters have with crime and the sense the city has drifted following the pandemic. Cuomo has long prided himself on his managerial capabilities and oversight of crises like Hurricane Sandy. His initial handling of Covid made him a national political celebrity. And he will likely leverage his smashmouth political reputation to paint himself as an effective Trump foil.

While the former governor has plenty of detractors, Politico reported he is expected to jump into the race as the frontrunner.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) tore into European leaders for rallying behind Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky less than 24 hours after the Ukrainian leader’s explosive meeting with President Donald Trump.

On Friday, Zelensky visited the White House in order to sign a rare minerals deal with the United States. However, things took a turn when Vice President JD Vance and Trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War III” and not be thankful for U.S. aid as his country continues to fight off an invasion from Russia.

Shortly after the argument in the Oval Office in front of cameras, Zelensky was asked to leave the White House without signing the minerals deal.

Regardless, European leaders have rallied behind Zelensky, including from France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Denmark, and more.

Graham declared in reaction on Saturday that the “last group of people” that he would “count on” to “defend freedom” would be Europeans.

“To the hand-wringing Europeans who felt offended by President Trump rejecting being lectured by President Zelensky: Be my guest to defend Ukraine from Putin,” the senator wrote on X. “It is long past time for the Europeans to show they are capable of defending their own continent.”
