‘I Dare You to Edit That In!’ CNN Interview With a Taiwanese Drag Queen Goes Off the Rails After She Dares Anchor to Touch Her ‘Pointy Boobs’
A New Year’s Eve interview between CNN’s Will Ripley and a Taiwanese drag queen went off the rails Tuesday when the latter dared the network’s international correspondent to touch her “pointy boobs” and then air the moment.
CNN aired the interview in which Nymphia Wind, the winner of season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, discussed the end of the year and Wind’s plans for 2025.
Wind, whose real name is Leo Tsao, told Ripley about her evening plans, which included kicking off the new year by headlining a countdown at the ICONSIAM in Bangkok, Thailand.
To introduce Nymphia to CNN’s viewers, Ripley described her as possibly “the hardest working drag queen in the world” before he aired a snippet of a pre-recorded interview between the two.
“I’m dying, thank God this is taped,” Nymphia said before taking a drink of water. “Oh, girl.”
While commenting on Nymphia’s busy schedule, Ripley said, “How are you still standing right now? You need a vacation, girl.”
Later during their conversation, Ripley pointed out Nymphia had adopted the banana as her “brand” and pointed out her yellow outfit.
Ripley told CNN viewers that Nymphia makes most of her costumes by hand and said to the performer, “But they’re very pointy. They look dangerous, actually.”
Nymphia replied, “Do you want to come touch and try? I dare you to edit that in, CNN. Edit in my pointy boobs!”
According to Fandom, Nymphia served six months in the Taiwanese Fire Brigade and attended college in England, in addition to winning RuPaul’s Drag Race. The drag performer was also part of this summer’s controversial Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
