CSPAN quickly turned away from one Friday call in which a man claiming to be a former Republican called for an “insurrection” against President-elect Donald Trump.

During Washington Journal, Greta Brawner took calls from viewers to get their thoughts on the House Speaker vote and the first day of the new 119th Congress, where Republicans have a one vote majority.

One caller into the show identified as Glenn, an independent from California, called House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) a “horrible” leader in the House and argued he should not be reelected. Trump endorsed Johnson ahead of Friday’s vote.

Glenn explained he was a former Republican and he would “never vote” for Johnson.

As Brawner asked Glenn for more thoughts on his turn away from the Republican Party, he declared he’d “love” to see Democrats and independents join together for an insurrection to prevent Trump from taking office. This was moments after Glenn explained Trump was the reason he ditched the Republican Party in the first place because he refuses to support Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. He referred to the former president as an “insurrectionist” while saying he’d “love” for an insurrection against Trump before he is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

GRETA BRAWNER: “Your message to lawmakers?”

GLENN: “I would really not vote Johnson in as Speaker. Sorry. He was horrible, he held up all the financing, he is just not a good Speaker, nobody trusts him, I don’t trust him. I was a Republican, I am now Independent, and I would never vote for the man.”

BRAWNER: “So you were a Republican, now an Independent. So what made you switch to be an Independent?”

GLENN: “Donald Trump. Sorry. I cannot support an insurrectionist. I just can’t. And I would really love to see Democrats and Independents do an insurrection on Donald Trump.”
