CNN’s Jake Tapper and several of his media colleagues were featured in a new ad from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign — and he’d like for Kennedy to take it down “at once.”

The ad, posted from Kennedy’s Twitter/X account, began with Tapper’s voice saying, “Panic has set in as Democrats across the country are shocked by a startling revelation following Thursday night’s debate — [President] Joe Biden is not fit for candidacy.” Along with Tapper were 0ther recognizable faces and voices from CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News providing their commentary from the debate fallout, their narrative edited to insinuate that disillusioned Democratic voters were now turning to independent candidate RFK Jr.

Alongside that commentary were shots of Kennedy in silhouette flipping on his suit jacket like a superhero’s cape or beloved fictional Democratic President Jed Bartlet (depending on which kind of nerd you are), a political savior, ready to swoop in and save the bedwetters. The out-of-context snippets from Tapper, Wolf Blitzer, Dana Bash, Rachel Maddow, Harris Faulkner, Anderson Cooper, and more are edited to frame Kennedy as the Democrats’ last hope, especially when Cooper is heard stating: “Sources are saying Democrats are starting to rally around who they believe might be their only legitimate chance of beating [former President] Donald Trump.”

Tapper was not having this at all, as he posted on Twitter/X on Thursday: “This ⬇ is so misleading and deceptive it should be taken down at once. The quotes are falsely clipped together.”

According to an ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll taken after the debate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 10 percent of voters’ support to Biden’s 41 percent and Trump’s 42 percent (with Cornel West and Jill Stein each getting 2 percent).
