The Dyson Zone Noise-Canceling and Air-Purifying Headphones Are 46% Off Today

What do you get when one of the most reputable household-appliance brands decides to venture into the world of headphones? The Dyson Zone: a combo of active noise-canceling (ANC) headphones and portable air purifier. Throughout Thursday, Jan. 18, Woot is selling the Dyson Zone for $379.99 (originally $699.99) after a 46% discount, the cheapest price I've seen them. The deal will be available until midnight ET or while supplies last. Woot only ships to the 48 contiguous states in the U.S. If you have Amazon Prime, you get free shipping; otherwise, it’ll be $6 to ship.

Yes, it’s weird. But you could see the initial vision of the product if you think back to its unveiling. Back in the spring of 2022, when the Dyson Zone was announced, the world was in the middle of a respiratory virus pandemic (although the headphones were never marketed for COVID-19 purposes); unsurprisingly, air purifiers were very popular. But Dyson missed their deadline and didn’t actually launch it until spring of 2023, two months before the U.S. government declared the pandemic over. Now we’re left scratching our heads, wondering why there’s a gadget that makes you look like Bane for no good reason.

The Dyson Zone was initially $949.99 for the base model on its release. But the price later dropped to $699.99, likely because of "average" reviews like PCMag's rightfully pointing out how expensive they were. But for $379.99, are they worth it? Considering that the best ANC over-ear headphones are not that far off in price, it can be difficult to justify the cost. Unless, of course, you have a use for the air purifier.

Since it is a Dyson, the air purifier is actually decent. The air purifier does reduce your exposure to harmful particles and gases as well as odors, and doubles as a cooling fan. The app also has a sensor for harmful gases, so you can put on the air-purifier visor when it makes sense. The audio and ANC are also solid, but not the best in the market.

If you can find a good use for them—like wearing them in airplanes, if you walk in noisy and smelly streets, or want to be Bane for Halloween— this is the best time to get the Dyson Zone.
