Fox News Guest Gen. Jack Keane: Trump’s Letters With Kim Jong Un Reveal an ‘Almost Father-Son Relationship’
President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un departed this week’s summit in Vietnam without an agreement of any kind. Whether their failed negotiations will have any damaging impact on their relationship remains to be seen. But one Fox News guest believes the two leaders couldn’t be any closer — at least when they arrived in Hanoi.
Appearing on Outnumbered Thursday, Gen. Jack Keane spoke about what he deems to be the affable relationship between Trump and Kim. After a clip was played of Kim saying he’s amenable to the U.S. having an office in Pyongyang, Keane spoke to the North Korean leader’s overall demeanor.
“It’s great,” Keane said. “I actually think it has something to do with him being around President Trump. He’s very casual, informal with the media. He responds to questions continuously. He wears his thoughts on his sleeve…I suspect he’s had an impact on this guy.”
The general went on to say that he knows someone who has seen the letters exchanged between Trump and Kim. And this person’s assessment was that the correspondence revealed an extremely close bond.
“It’s almost like a father-son relationship that’s expressed there,” Keane said.
