Saturday Night Live kicked off their latest show with an unusually short cold open that, not surprisingly dealt with the Mueller report.
Robert De Niro returned as SNL’s Robert Mueller who talked about the submission of his report and the additional “on-going” investigations while William Barr — as played by Aidy Bryant — narrated his summary and Trump reacted via tweet.
“I am submitting these 380 pages,” SNL’s Mueller said
“I am writing almost four pages,” SNL’s Barr said.
” I am reading zero pages,” Alec Baldwin‘s Donald Trump chimed in. “But Sean Hannity has read it and he’s so excited, that he texted me an eggplant.”
At one point, Kate McKinnon‘s Rudy Giuliani literally popped up in the Oval Office next to Trump.
“Rudy, can you believe it? We got off scot-free!” Trump boasted.
“I know, I know. I guess I was a legal genius the whole time,” Giuliani bragged. “And all of my mind games worked. If you want to know what my mind games were, you got to ask the family of goblins who lives in my head and opens my eyes.”
