Candace Owens absolutely lost it on Megyn Kelly over her coverage of French President Emmanuel Macron’s defamation lawsuit against Owens, which pertains to Owens’s claim that his wife, Brigitte Macron, was born a man.

Kelly discussed the lawsuit on her show with lawyers Arthur Aidala and Mark Eiglarsh on Tuesday, noting that Owens seemed gleeful over the lawsuit because she’d get to “sit across from Brigitte Macron at a deposition and hear her asked about her penis.”

Eiglarsh warned that Owens was “so close to the line, if not over it,” while Kelly confessed that she hadn’t watched Owens’s series about the allegation. Nevertheless, Kelly observed that her “producers watched it and they did tell me  — and they have nothing against Candace — but they did say that it’s thin, and it’s disjointed, and it is hard to follow at times.”

“It sounds a lot like conspiracy. Some of the conspiracies that we’ve criticized in the past have come true. I don’t know whether this will be one of them, but I don’t totally get it,” added Kelly.

“This is the complaint, it is huge. And it does have pictures of Brigitte Macron through childhood, and it’s got all the things that we’ve been talking about. And their [the Macrons’ lawyers] point is, this was all given to Candace before they filed the lawsuit in this December retraction demand,” observed Kelly. “And she didn’t. And I think the reason she didn’t-, I mean, I think that the worst case scenario for Candace is she didn’t because she doesn’t believe that, okay? So is that defamation? You know, Mark, like she rejected it. And let’s go the nastiest possible interpretation of what she’s done. She’s a conspiracy theorist who got twisted up on this Macron thing, and it’s not true, and she refuses to see reason. I’m not sure that’s reckless disregard. That’s the worst case scenario. The best case scenario for Candace is it’s true and these people are lying about it because they don’t want to be humiliated.”

Owens responded to the segment on X, writing “From transgenderism to Covid, @megynkelly has consistently been on the wrong side of every issue. She thinks she’s smarter than her audience but she isn’t. She is being destroyed in her own comment section for trying to do a hit piece on me in defense of Brigitte Macron.”

“Discussing a series while consciously choosing not to show even one minute from that series while also admitting that you never watched it makes you a coward at best. At worst, an unwitting defender of an orbit of pedophiles,” she added.

Kelly didn’t take the criticism lying down.

“Actually the segment was very fair to @RealCandaceO w/straight legal analysis of Macron’s claims; if anything I was skeptical about them, arguing CO really seems to believe her statements which may save her legally,” she fired back. “But some ppl spend their days looking for new enemies.”
