Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) raged at Democrats, claiming they want “lawlessness” and the destruction of the United States, following footage of a brutal brawl on the streets of Cincinnati going viral.

Jermaine Matthews, Montianez Merriweather, and Dekyra Vernon were all arrested and charged with felonious assault, assault, and aggravated rioting after videos went viral showing two people being beaten by a crowd in downtown Cincinnati. The videos show a man being stomped on by a group and a woman being knocked out cold.

The videos quickly made their way across social media as numerous conservative influencers claimed race was a motivating factor in the crimes, as the people being beaten in the video were white. It is not clear what started the brawl.

On Thursday’s Fox & Friends, Moreno joined Lawrence Jones as the FBI announced they are coordinating with Cincinnati Police on the case. Moreno posted images of one of the victims to his X account, identifying her as Holly.

“Senator, I believe that most citizens are good. You got people that act the fool. But most citizens want law and order in their town. So the funding, you’re correct. That is one element of this story. But what about conservative ideas that believe in law and order being brought to that city to actually win? Because the problem is Democrats are running these towns,” Jones told Moreno.

The senator raged at elected Democrats, claiming they want to “destroy America” with “lawlessness.”

Moreno said:

These elected leaders want destruction. They want less policing. They want a lawless society because they want to destroy America. I know it seems to some of your viewers that maybe that’s too hyperbolic. It’s not, Lawrence. They have a dark view of America.

Look, they honestly care more about foreign countries and foreign citizens and criminal aliens. I mean, the Democrats spend most of their time trying to jailbreak illegals from our detention centers or foreign prisons. Look, we have to be advocates for American citizens and we cannot allow our great cities to descend into chaos. That’s what they want. We won’t let them, Lawrence.

Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft is the company’s first color e-reader, and for me, that means one thing: Comic books. While there’s other color content out there (like children’s books and even textbooks) as an adult and a superhero nerd, comics would be the reason for me to go in on Amazon’s most expensive Kindle. Unfortunately, after spending some time with it, I’m not exactly happy with the Colorsoft’s comics-reading experience. There are definitely improvements over reading comics on a more traditional tablet, but for most people, the tradeoffs just won’t be worth it.

Why get a color e-reader for comics?

So far, mainstream comic books have had a rocky transition to digital. Unlike their text-based counterparts, you can’t read them on black-and-white e-readers without losing their all-important color, which usually means most people turn to traditional LCD tablets like the iPad to read them instead. Unfortunately, that can get a bit tiring after a few hours, and the battery drain is nothing to sneeze at.

The Kindle Colorsoft, on the surface, solves those problems. It’s not the first color e-reader, but it is certainly the most well-known—when I reviewed it, I noted that it does have slightly better color accuracy and less artifacting than the competition. In an ideal world, it would be like holding a paper comic book in your hand, with an easy-on-the-eyes e-ink display and a library at your fingertips. Unfortunately, that’s not the world we live in.

The colors just don't cut it

Likely the first thing you’ll notice when opening a comic book on the Kindle Colorsoft is how much less vibrant the colors are. If using a black-and-white Kindle means missing out on your comic’s coloring, then using a Kindle Colorsoft doesn’t fully solve that. The device can only display a total of 4,096 colors, and while that sounds impressive on the surface, it pales in comparison to the billions of colors even the cheapest LCD tablet can put out. Check out this Sonic the Hedgehog comic displayed on both the Kindle Colorsoft and my ancient 6th-gen iPad. There’s an entirely different vibe depending on which device you read on!

To be fair, that’s a fairly recent title, and older comics do hold up a little bit better, as the printing methods used to produce them back then were also limited in how many colors they could put out. If you read a lot of retro titles, the Colorsoft could hold up better—Uncanny X-Men’s '80s run looks pretty pleasant on the device, for example. But pay close attention, and you’ll notice the next compromise you’ll have to make while reading comics on the Colorsoft.

The screen is too small

Like most color e-readers, the Kindle Colorsoft has a smaller screen, at 7 inches when measured diagonally. That’s fine for novels, but for comic books, it’s way less space than you might be used to.

The typical American comic book is 11.75 inches diagonally, which means content on the Colorsoft is going to be shrunken down to fit. This has the benefit of disguising the device’s low resolution (black-and-white content on the Colorsoft is shown at 300 ppi, but technical limitations means color content is 150 ppi), but can also make some text nearly impossible to read. 11.75 might not sound much bigger than 8, but also take into account that the Colorsoft’s screen is in a slightly wider aspect ratio than most comic books, so you’re also going to have to put up with letterboxing making the picture even smaller. I’m too old to put up with the kind of squinting I’d need to do to read that. Yes, you can zoom in by pinching on the screen, but because of e ink’s low refresh rate, it’s way too slow to bother with on every page, especially because you’ll need to wait for a few refreshes to scroll through the entire zoomed image.

Ideally, comics readers would want a larger color e-ink device—those exist, but they’re pretty pricey, and are intended more for businesspeople to take notes on than for the average person to read with. There’s not really a consumer-level answer for this yet, and anyone hoping Amazon’s device would move that needle will leave sorely disappointed.

No comic book apps

I can accept that the Kindle Colorsoft was always going to come with some compromises. Amazon can’t magically make e-ink screens more vibrant, or make large color e-ink devices more affordable. Even with those issues, a color e-reader might be a fun way to enjoy a comic every now and then, maybe when your eyes are feeling strained or when you’re traveling. I wouldn’t use it as my main comics reading device, but if I could easily load up my library on it, it could be a nice alternative to have in my bag.

It’s a shame, then, that accessing comics on the Kindle Colorsoft is a pain. Like all Kindles, Amazon’s color e-reader is locked to its ecosystem, and that means comic availability is scattershot.

Right now, I read most of my Western comics through the DC Universe Infinite and Marvel Unlimited apps. Sure, paying about $10 a month for each isn’t ideal, but I’ve slowly come around on these services, thanks to their all-you-can-read models and their massive libraries. You can find most titles from each publisher going as far back as the 1930s on these platforms, and buying a month or two of membership time when you get an itch to read a specific series is much cheaper than buying each issue piecemeal. Plus, newer comics get added to these services as they’re released, and while your access to them will depend on your specific subscription tier, availability is usually a bit more reliable on these apps than on other digital services.

Which is why my biggest issue with the Kindle Colorsoft is that you can’t use either of these apps with it. Instead, you’ll need to buy each comic issue you want to read directly from the Amazon store, which can get pricey fast, even if you’re subscribed to Amazon Prime or Kindle Unlimited.

The first volume of Amazing Spider-Man, for instance, is available through Prime, and the second is on Kindle Unlimited, but the rest cost $6 a pop, and only contain 10 issues a piece. For such a long-running series, that’s a lot to pay if you want to read everything, especially compared to what you’d get with the Marvel app, which offers the entire comic going back to the 1960s in its monthly price, alongside most everything else the company has ever published.

And that’s talking about collected issues. For comics that are only available as single issues, usually newer ones, you’ll have to pay $5 for each. While that’s not so bad compared to buying physical copies, compared to other digital options, two issues would be all you’d have to buy before subscribing to an app would give you better value. Since I can pretty easily get through a single issue in a half hour, I can already feel the pain that would put on my wallet.

The Kindle store is great for indie comics that aren’t easily available elsewhere, and I’ll admit that there is a certain satisfaction in buying to own, even digitally. But a serious device for reading digital comics still needs to at least give readers the option to subscribe to the most prominent platforms from the two biggest comic publishers. Without that, you’ll probably have to pay more than you might otherwise, and that’s not even pointing out that Amazon’s store might not have everything you want to buy.

If not for comics, why buy a Kindle Colorsoft?

Maybe I’m being nitpicky. For a casual user, the Kindle Colorsoft could be worth it just for the odd situation where you might want color. It can display your novel covers in color, and I’m sure kids would find picture books more engaging with it. But even a more relaxed user will run into problems here—because of the color filter baked into the Colorsoft’s screen, even black-and-white content will come across as shimmery, which can hurt contrast or put distracting splotches of rainbow on your display. If that sounds like it would bother you, I’d suggest the cheaper Kindle Paperwhite instead—you won’t just save money, but will get a better experience.

Which means that a good portion of the Colorsoft’s audience is going to be adults, and particularly hardcore users at that. In that case, I just can’t think of any medium that’s got as much color content for them as comic books, which means the Kindle Colorsoft needs to be able to keep up against other devices for reading them. And while e-ink is easy on the eyes, there are still too many compromises for me to say it’s worth it yet. I’m sure some people can make it work, especially if they only read a specific series or are OK with getting their content elsewhere and then manually transferring PDFs to their Kindle, but most people will still be better served with an iPad.

Then-future President Donald Trump stunned Wendy Williams with a quote about First Daughter Ivanka Trump that has resurfaced amid the uproar over Jeffrey Epstein — and which Williams described as “Hulk Hogan creepy!”

Amid the heightened scrutiny of Trump’s past, a flood of unearthed recordings and quotes are being given new life and significance as critics try to paint the president as a longtime sex creep — including some involving his daughters Ivanka and Tiffany Trump.

One example is a clip from a 1994 episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous in which Trump speculated about then-infant daughter Tiffany’s potential future breast size.

But media figures have long pointed to a slew of comments about Ivanka that critics have used to suggest an unnatural and unwholesome interest toward her by Trump — many of them caught on tape.

During the February 27, 2013 episode of The Wendy Williams show, Trump shocked the host with a comment that made her reference Hulk Hogan — who coincidentally passed away recently:

WENDY WILLIAMS: We play this game here, it’s called Fave Five. I’ll ask the question, Ivanka you answer first, and then dad you answer also. Okay Ivanka, what’s the favorite thing you have in common with your father?

IVANKA TRUMP: Either real estate or golf.

WENDY WILLIAMS: Donald? With your daughter?

DONALD TRUMP: Well, I was going to say sex, but I can’t relate that to her.

WENDY WILLIAMS: Oh! That was Hulk Hogan creepy!

DONALD TRUMP: No, I know. So. So I’ll just go into a very simple and boring answer. How about real estate, right?

Other such comments include:

• Ex-Trump official Miles Taylor wrote in his book “Blowback” that “Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump’s breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly co remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter. Afterward, Kelly retold the story to me in visible disgust. Trump, he said, was ‘a very, very evil man.'”
• Two different women with whom Trump had sexual affairs — Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal — have revealed that he compared them to Ivanka while the affairs were going on.
• “I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her,” among the most notorious of the clips, from a 2006 episode of The View.

• Ex-Miss Universe Brooke Antoinette Lee told The New York Times that Trump said, in 1997, “Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?”
• Trump told Rolling Stone in 2015, “Yeah, she’s [Ivanka’s] really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father . . . ”
• He told Howard Stern in 2003, “My daughter, Ivanka. She’s six feet tall, she’s got the best body.”

• Also on Stern, Trump agreed that Ivanka is “a piece of ass.”

For under $50, Nothing's earbuds offer better audio quality and features than much pricier competitors. To start, there is a "Smart Dial" on the charging case that lets you control the earbuds. The earbuds have touch controls, but I've never been a fan, and it looks like the people from Nothing aren't either. By rotating the dial, you can change the volume, pause or play, skip tracks, etc. You can customize the dial to use it as you please.

Another surprising feature that other Nothing products have is AI assistance from ChatGPT directly from your earbuds. President Donald Trump busted out an impression of late actor Sean Connery while discussing his history with Scotland.

Trump joined Miranda Devine on the New York Post’s Pod Force One Tuesday, where he recalled receiving Connery’s help in getting past golf courses approved in Scotland. Trump recently made his way to Turnberry, Scotland, and Devine asked him about plans to name a golf course after his mother, who was Scottish.

“We started a couple of years ago, and it’s a very beautiful, beautiful piece of lan,d and it’s going to be very good. I have a course there and I had to start this within a certain period of time or I’d lose the zoning. And Sean Connery got me the zoning,” the president told Devine.

According to Trump, Connery helped advocate for Trump to get zoning approval. He said he only met the late actor, famous for portraying James Bond, once.

“He liked me, I liked him, and he’s a tough kind of a guy, as you probably know. If you look at the Barbara Walters interview, you know what I’m talking about,” Trump said, referring to an infamous interview between Connery and Walters where Connery defended hitting a woman with an open palm.

The president said he had trouble getting environmental approvals for his golf courses, but claimed he received a push from Connery. He also busted into an impression of the Scottish actor while telling the tale.

He said:

It was very tough zoning environmentally here to get that approved. And when they approved it, they approved two courses, but I had to start the second one within 10 years from the first, et cetera, et cetera. So I didn’t start it. Let’s say two years ago, we would have lost that right. You’d never get it back.

But Sean Connery, it was very hard getting the zoning because of the environment and it was very highly protected and all. It’s called SSSI. And he let out a howl once.

He said, “Let the bloody bloke build his damn golf courses and let him put money into our country. What’s wrong with you?” And as soon as he said that, the whole thing got approved like so fast, it was crazy. I called him, I said, “Thank you very much.” I said, “You have great power.” He’s like the king, I call him the king of Scotland. But so I got to know him a little bit after that. He was great, he was a tough cookie.

“You do a very good Scottish accent,” Devine said.

Trump then busted it out again.

“Yeah, well, but he did say that. He said, ‘Let the bloody bloke build his bloody golf courses.’ And you know what, when he said that, it all, it just, I got approved,” he said.

According to a 2008 Express report, Connery celebrated Trump’s plans getting approved, calling it, “A major vote of confidence in Scotland’s tourist industry.” Connery reportedly planned on being first to tee off at Trump’s new golf course. The actor passed away in 2020 at the age of 90.

There are a number of things you want your phone to do reliably: access the internet. Make calls. Provide directions via GPS. What you don't want it to do, reliably or otherwise, is catch on fire. That seems a simple enough demand for a modern device to meet, but someone apparently forgot to tell certain models of the Google Pixel.

As Android Authority reports, it seems a small number of Pixel phones are catching fire. The keyword here is small—at this time, the outlet has tracked five such reports, specifically pertaining to Pixel 6a phones, that have caught fire over the past year. Still, it's a concerning trend, one that seems to have led Google to issue an Pixel 6a update earlier this month. The update brings "battery management features" to these devices that sharply reduces the devices' performance in an effort to take strain off of their aging batteries. Google did the same for the Pixel 4a earlier this year, also in an effort to lower fire risk.

These types of updates are a double-edge sword: One the one hand, you can't allow phones to operate in an unsafe manner, and if these devices are running so hot that their batteries catch fire, you need to take action. However, the performance reduction means that some Pixel 4a and Pixel 6a devices will become so slow as to be borderline unusable.

What's worse, the update doesn't seem to have prevented all Pixel 6as from catching fire. Android Authority says it tracked four Pixel 6a fires before the July update, but the fifth occurred two weeks after Google issued that update. The phone in question belonged to this Redditor, who posted their experience to r/GooglePixel. OP woke up to a "horrible smell and a loud noise," only to discover their Pixel 6a was burning. They pull it off their nightstand by the cord and threw it onto their tile floor, but not before their sheets had caught fire as well. They also experienced throat pain after inhaling the smoke from the Pixel 6a.

OP confirms they had previously installed the update, so if that's accurate, whatever Google included in the "battery nerf," as some users call it, did not prevent the incident. The user was charging their Pixel with their Steam Deck charger, which is a relatively powerful 45W power adapter, but even still, users shouldn't have to be worried about their charger causing a fire.

What to do if you have a Pixel 6a

If you're eyeing your Pixel 6a right now looking for signs of smoke or heat, I don't blame you. First things first: Make sure to install the latest battery update. Even if it reduces performance, it likely does reduce the risk of a fire caused by the battery—even if it didn't help the Redittor in this case. After all, we don't know the exact condition of the user's battery. Even if they didn't notice any swelling, if their 6a's battery was already weak, the heat from charging could have caused it to explode, or simply catch fire.

You can also look into Google's battery replacement program. If you device qualifies, you can get a free battery replacement for your 6a. You can take the phone in person to a Google-authorized repair store if you live in the U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan, or India. Fox News’ Mark Levin went hard at New York City’s Democratic Party mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani on Monday, calling him a “Jew hater,” “a moron,” and “the enemy of the people.”

Levin joined Fox’s Outnumbered to discuss, among other topics, the family wedding Mamdani attended in Uganda. Host Emily Compagno asked Levin about how the reportedly lavish event might reflect on the candidate.

“Isn’t it rich, Mark, coming from a mayoral hopeful that decries such wealth disparity and says everyone who has money should give it to the poor? What a hypocrite.”

“He sounds like his supporters. All of those rich people,” said Levin. “I call these guys Mercedes Marxists, because that’s pretty much what they are.”

He continued:

This guy is a moron. He’s never done anything with his life. He grew up with money. He knows slogans. He knows cliches. He’s really never done anything effective. He’s 33 years old. I admit he’s older than [Fidel] Castro was when he took over Cuba. He was 29 years old. But if New Yorkers are foolish enough to vote this man into office, you will deserve him.

He will destroy your job base. He will destroy your tax base. He will enrich Florida. He will destroy your housing base. In other words, all the people these Marxists claimed to want to help will be ruined. The blue-collar workers won’t have jobs. Taxes will go up. You know they talk about– he talks about affordability.

Does anybody know any Marxists society that’s affordable? Do they have full shelves? Do they have anything? They have nothing. So we talked about The New York Times. I blame The New York Times and newspapers like that. The New York Post is hammering away. The New York Times acts like this is just another candidate running for office. This guy is the enemy of the people.

“He’s not only a Marxist, he’s a radical Islamist,” said Levin. “He’s a Jew hater. He’s an anti-Semite.”

Back in 2019, sports writer Rick Reilly wrote a book chronicling how President Donald Trump cheats at golf.

“He cheats like a mafia accountant,” Reilly wrote. “He cheats crazy. He cheats whether you’re watching or not. He cheats whether you like it or not.”

And on Sunday, a video made the rounds on social media purporting to show Trump (and his caddy) caught in the act.

The clip shows the caddy walking out ahead of the president, and then flipping a ball back into shorter rough — as opposed to some of the taller fescue just outside the area where they were walking. Trump is then seen walking towards that ball — appearing as though he’s going to play it.

Liberal clipping account PatriotTakes posted the footage in question:

There are no further details about the clip — such as, for instance, the hole number where the incident occurred. But Associated Press footage does appear to corroborate that the video was captured during Sunday’s round — as Trump and the caddy appear in the same clothes.

If a player loses their ball, the rules of golf dictate that a player take a stroke-and-distance penalty — meaning they must hit again from the same spot as the previous spot. Further, a serious player would always drop a ball themselves, rather than leave it to a caddy. So this appears to be a big no-no all around.

Now, this infraction is hardly the end of the world — unless there was some kind of stake involved in the match with his playing companions. Still, the clip is fueling speculation that Trump’s golf prowess isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Here’s a sampling of the reaction — particularly among left-wing influencers:

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi expressed both exasperation over what he called a “bat poop crazy” presser in Scotland with President Donald Trump and fury at some of the questions asked by reporters in the room.

Trump spoke with reporters Sunday alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen from the site of their meeting at his luxury golf resort at Turnberry in Scotland. The two leaders reached a trade agreement that was officially announced shortly after the presser.

But it was what went on during that presser that had the MSNBC host exercised on Velshi, not to mention his guests, columnist and editor of The Contrarian Jen Rubin and Bloomberg Opinion editor Tim O’Brien, both of whom are MSNBC analysts.

After the presser ended, Velshi first reacted by saying, “Wow!”

After a pause, he added, “Uh, I’m not going to say any more words until my executive producer puts on the banner next to me, ‘that was bat poop crazy.’ Just not gonna. That was crazy.”

After noting some of the highlights from the Q&A with Trump and Von der Leyen, Velshi turned to his guests, saying, “I don’t know what to say.”

“It’s unfortunate that in those kind of scrums he’s not challenged in the room,” Rubin said to begin her remarks.

“Yes, that is actually right,” Velshi quickly agreed. “He was not challenged by anybody.”

Rubin said that it’s “extremely unfortunate” that no one in the room for the joint presser on international trade asked Trump about the “cover-up” of Jeffrey Epstein files.

“So what those reporters are doing in that rooms, I do not know,” Rubin said. “It was a very bad showing from the [press].”

“Yeah including somebody asking about — somebody asked him about his mood, somebody asked him about golfing, it’s like, why?”

Velshi then amped it up even more, saying, “I’m sorry for journalism. I apologize for journalism, for some of the questions that were going on.”

Rubin then said three times that “it was appalling” before Velshi turned to O’Brien, and brought up former President Joe Biden as a measuring stick for being “rambly’ or showing cognitive issues, which it is now okay to say about Biden.

“This was rambly to the degree that if anybody — including Joe Biden — anybody held a press conference like this anywhere in the world, they’d be under pressure to resign within an hour because there’s a cognitive issue going on,” he said.

The conversation continued in that way, with Velshi offering multiple fact-checks on Trump’s remarks apparently linking the Rwandan Genocide of 1994 and a peace deal brokered by the White House in June between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

RUBIN: That is crazy. It is also extremely unfortunate that no one in that room asked him about the hugely corrupt, grotesque cover-up of a convicted sex offender and her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and Jeffrey Epstein’s files that he refuses to release. So what those quarters are doing in that room, I do not know. It was a very bad showing from the p–.

VELSHI: Yeah including somebody asking about — somebody asked him about his mood, somebody asked him about golfing, it’s like, why? Why?

President Donald Trump was confronted, during a press engagement Sunday, about whether he was in a bad mood because of a lousy day on the Scottish links.

Speaking with the media ahead of a sitdown with EU president Ursula von der Leyen, a reporter wanted to get an understanding of why — in her estimation — Trump was being surly.

“Can I ask why you’re in a bad mood?” The reporter asked. “Was it a bad morning of golf, or why you not in a good mood?”

The 79-year-old president — who claims to have won five club championships this year alone — did not admit to a poor round.

“The golf was beautiful,” Trump said. “Golf can never be bad. Even if you play badly, it’s still good. If you had a bad day on the golf course, it’s OK. It’s better than other days.”

The question underscored the part-business, part-pleasure nature of Trump’s trip across the Atlantic. The president teed it up Sunday morning at one of his courses in Turnberry, Scotland. The president has lobbied for Turnberry’s Ailsa Course, which is ranked no. 8 in the world by Golf Digest, to host the prestigious Open Championship — one of the four majors of men’s golf. It last hosted the Open in 2009.

President Donald Trump’s attacks on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell came in for criticism on Fox News on Saturday’s edition of The Journal Editorial Report.

Trump has repeatedly urged Powell to lower interest rates, which the chairman has declined to do. The president reportedly considered trying to fire Powell, though he denies this. Matters came to a head between the two men on Thursday as they toured the Federal Reserve’s D.C. headquarters, which are undergoing renovations.

During the tour, Trump insisted that the cost of the project had ballooned to more $3 billion. Powell disputed this, saying that Trump’s figure included a building that had been completed five years ago.

“You’re including the Martin renovation,” Powell told the president. “No, you just added in a third building… It was built five years ago.”

Journal Editorial Report host Paul Gigot, The Wall Street Journal opinion editor, asked Journal columnist Mary Anastasia O’Grady if Trump’s criticism of Powell is valid.

“It’s fair to the extent that they are overbudget, and it was supposed to be about $1.9 billion,” she said. “And it looks like it’s gonna be about 2.5, so that’s right. They have gone over budget. However, if every project that had gone over budget in Washington or every federal project was a big crime like this, then nobody would have a job in Washington.”

Gigot pointed to a criminal referral made Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who alleged that Powell lied to Congress under oath while testifying about the project.

“I think even that is a little bit of a stretch,” O’Grady replied. “He was asked in a hearing where you have a few seconds to basically respond.” She went on to note that the project has run into unexpected problems, such as large amounts of asbestos, supply chain issues, and rising steel costs.

“I think it’s a lot of noise about nothing,” she concluded.

“It seems to me that what this is really about is monetary policy,” Gigot said. “Trump wants lower interest rates. Powell has been cautious in cutting them. And this focus on the Fed buildings has kind of come up lately. And frankly, the referral from Congresswoman Luna is preposterous. You’re criminalizing a difference of opinion on policy.”

Joe Rogan had nothing but praise for South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone after their show depicted President Donald Trump with a micropenis and sharing a bed with Satan.

On Friday’s The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan invited on former CIA officer Mike Baker and railed against the Trump administrations handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

During a discussion on the “chaos” of current politics, Rogan brought up the South Park clip mocking Trump. The comedian laughed while praising Parker and Stone as “fucking hilarious.

“There’s so much chaos. It’s so fucked up. There’s just so much madness. Oh my god. Did you see the South Park episode?” Rogan said, adding, “They did a Donald Trump one with Satan. It’s fucking hilarious.”

Rogan has been one of a number of critics calling on the release of more Epstein documents following a Department of Justice/FBI memo denying the existence of a hyped-client list of abusers. Epstein died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while being charged with sex trafficking. Trump has called the existence of a list a “hoax” as numerous MAGA voices call for more to be made public.

“[Comedian] Bridget Phetasy had a funny quote, like, when you think that they have reached the bottom of the highest level of not giving a fuck, they reach unseen levels. The Epstein thing is so crazy. Like, and [Trump] saying, ‘what do you care? Why does everybody care about Epstein?'” Rogan said on Friday.

On the same episode, Rogan ripped FBI Director Kash Patel, a past podcast guest, for denying the existence of incriminating videos related to Epstein.

In the South Park episode, Trump is depicted as having a micropenis and being a lover of Satan. The show airs on Comedy Central, which is owned by Paramount. That parent company recently reached a settlement with Trump after a lawsuit over CBS reporting, which South Park also satirized.

The White House released a statement responding to the episode, calling South Park irrelevant.

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” the statement reads. “President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez sounded the alarm over Skydance and Paramount’s recently approved $8 billion merger deal, appearing on MSNBC’s Chris Jansing Reports Friday to warn that the government is being “weaponized” to “control” the media.

On Thursday, the FCC formally approved the merger, paving the way for the transfer of assets to the new entity, led by Skydance CEO David Ellison. The agreement was endorsed in a 2-1 vote, with  Commissioner Gomez standing as the lone dissenting voice.

The deal was finalized just weeks after Paramount agreed to pay President Donald Trump a $16 million settlement over a 2024 60 Minutes interview with then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

On MSNBC, Gomez called the negotiation process a “back room deal” and warned that the editorial control given to the government as part of the agreement is a “direct violation of our First Amendment freedoms.”

ANNA GOMEZ: I have been alarmed by this administration’s campaign of censorship and control. And we’ve seen that in a variety of ways throughout this administration. With regard to the FCC, what we are seeing is a weaponization of the FCC’s regulatory authority to retaliate and to control the content of news media organizations. So in this transaction, what this administration was able to get was a condition that has never before been seen with control of editorial decisions in the newsroom. And that is very problematic. Our First Amendment prohibits the government from interfering in freedom of the press, and that is a direct violation of our First Amendment freedoms.

CHRIS JANSING: We’ve seen the Trump administration exercise many pressure campaigns quite openly, pushing members of Congress to vote Donald Trump’s way. He’s used pressure against other countries in tariffs, in fact, in so many aspects of government. Did you see or feel that pressure firsthand during this process?

ANNA GOMEZ: What we watched was really what I was afraid of, which was a back room deal. The companies were talking to the FCC as a regulator and there was nothing transparent for people to be able to see what was happening. That’s why I’m glad that I succeeded in having the transaction brought before the full commission for a vote, so that we could be transparent about what was happening.

CHRIS JANSING: You warned that it is the American public who will ultimately pay the price. How do you think this might impact people and maybe they don’t even realize it?

ANNA GOMEZ: Going back to this administration’s campaign of censorship and control, what they are doing is they want the news media to report on them in a positive light or in the light that they want. So they don’t want the media to do their job, which is to hold government to account without fear or favor. And the public does suffer the consequences of that, because what you get is not the benefit of the hard-driving journalism that we want from our journalists, but rather an arm of the administration that is punished if it is not reporting in a way that this administration wants.

Your DualSense controller isn't just good for your PS5. In fact, it can be paired with a number of other devices, so you can play games on things like your computer, smartphone, or tablet. (It even works with an Apple TV—go figure.)

If you've ever tried actively switching between these devices to play, however, it gets old fast. That's because you can't simply choose to start playing on a new device after wrapping up on another: If you've paired your DualSense controller to your iPhone, for example, you'll need to pair it with your PS5 again before picking up a PlayStation game. Then, you'll need to pair it with your computer before playing a game on Steam. If you're used to products that can quickly switch between paired devices, like AirPods, for example, it's especially frustrating.

That's a problem Sony is working on solving. The company's latest system update beta for PS5 comes with a new feature that enables your DualSense controller to pair with up to four devices at once. That means you can keep your DualSense controller paired to your PS5, but also your PC, your Android phone, and your iPad. When you want to stop playing on the couch and move to your computer, your controller will already be paired, so you can start playing right away. It's a small feature, but one that brings a lot of convenience, especially if you play across multiple devices with the same controller.

How to pair a PS5 controller with multiple devices

At this time, the only way to try this out is to enroll your PS5 in Sony's beta program. You can sign up here, though you'll need to wait for an invite to join—no guarantees.

If you're running the beta, or you're reading this when Sony has released the update to the general public, here's how this new feature works: First, check that the player indicator and light bar on your controller are turned off. If they aren't, hold down the PS button until they are.

Next, you're going to put your controller into pairing mode, and choose one of the available "slots." Each of the action buttons on your controller (triangle, circle, cross, and square) denote a slot. To set pairing mode to a particular slot, press and hold one of these action buttons and the PS button for more than five seconds. You'll see the light bar and player indicator flash twice.

Now, make sure to enable Bluetooth on the device you want to pair to, and select the option to add Bluetooth devices. Then, choose your controller from the list. If it worked, the light bar will light up, and the player indicator lights will blink in accordance with the slot number:

1. Triangle

2. Circle

3. Cross

4. Square

You can repeat these steps for each of the four slots until you've maxed out your pairings.

Switching devices with your PS5 controller

Once paired, you can switch devices at any time, whether your controller is on or off. To do so, make sure the device you want to switch to is on, then press and hold the corresponding action button and PS button. Let go when the light bar and player indicator blink, which should happen after about three seconds.

Thursday afternoon, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was commenting on the recent passing of wrestler Hulk Hogan when a protester yelled several expletive-laced insults at him referencing the “Alligator Alcatraz” immigration detention facility in the Everglades and calling the governor a “pedophile.”

The news broke earlier Thursday that Hogan, 71, had passed away at his home in Clearwater, Florida from cardiac arrest. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, made a memorable appearance at the Republican National Convention last summer showing his support for President Donald Trump’s campaign.

DeSantis was speaking at an event in Bradenton, about an hour south of Hogan’s residence in Clearwater. The 46-year-old governor shared some of his memories of Hogan, calling him “a major icon for anybody in GenX…anyone growing up in the ’80s and the ’90s” and a “superhero,” especially for Florida kids. While DeSantis reminisced about watching Hogan perform in movies and Wrestlemania programs as a child, he was interrupted by a man in the audience yelling at him something about “Alligator Alcatraz.”

The ICE detention facility has been extremely controversial for its reported abuses of detainees, hundreds of millions of dollars in lucrative contracts going to GOP donors and other DeSantis allies, lack of audits and other Florida law-mandated transparency, environmental harm to a national park’s fragile ecosystem, and impact on local Miccosukee and Seminole ceremonial sites and tribal lands.

“Hey, stop, stop, stop, I’m –” DeSantis said, pointing back at the heckler.

“Is that your fucking legacy?” the man shouted. “You bow down to a fucking pedophile! You’re a pedophile!”

“Get out of here,” said DeSantis. “Get out of here.”

The heckler continued, shouting accusations about DeSantis and President Donald Trump.”All of you are fucking Nazis! Fuck you all!”

DeSantis resumed speaking as the man was reportedly taken out of the room by security, yelling one more “Fucking Nazis!” at the governor as he exited.

If you get an urgent message about running out of cloud storage—the consequences of which involve losing your photos or documents—you may be the target of a scam. The Federal Trade Commission is alerting consumers to a phishing scheme involving emails and text messages claiming that your cloud storage with services like Apple, Google, and Microsoft is full. The end goal of threat actors is to get you to click a link under the guise of clearing or upgrading your storage, which ultimately leads to you handing over personal information (like your account username and password) or downloading malware to your device.

How the cloud storage scam works

As MalwareTips describes, cloud storage scam emails typically have urgent subject links like "Your iCloud account may be at risk" to provoke an emotional response that spurs you to act without thinking. The messages may come from an email address that looks real but is just a little bit off (from [at]applesecurity[dot]com rather than [at]apple[dot]com, for example) and include official logos or other branding. The email body may have a time-sensitive upgrade offer—again, creating a sense of urgency—and a call to action, such as an "Upgrade Storage Now" button.

Any message that brings up a strong emotion or makes you feel like you need to act fast is likely a scam, even if it appears to come from a legitimate sender. As I've written about, threat actors can capitalize on vulnerabilities allowing them to spoof or impersonate organizations like Google.

You may see legitimate cloud storage alerts, such as banners, when you're logged into various services (like Gmail), but your best bet if you get an email or text about running out of cloud space is to go directly to the source to check your balance. Do not pass go, and do not click any links.

How to check your cloud storage space

If you're a Google user, you can view and manage your cloud storage in your Google One Storage Manager (you must be logged into your Google account). This shows you how much storage you've used and how much you have remaining plus a breakdown of the Google services that are taking up your allotment and suggestions for clearing additional space.

Note that if you have multiple Google accounts, each will have its own storage allotment, and you can toggle between them by tapping your profile photo in the upper right corner. Personal accounts with Google receive 15 GB of storage for free, with options to pay for additional space. If you run out, you won't be able to upload or create files in Drive, send or receive emails in Gmail, or back up photos or videos to Google Photos.

If you have an iCloud storage account, you can check the remaining space under Settings > [your name] > iCloud on your iPhone or iPad or via the Apple menu > System Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage on your Mac. On Windows, open iCloud for Windows and scroll to the bar graph. Again, you must be logged into your Apple account. iCloud comes with 5 GB of free storage. Once that's full—and if you don't add more space—your device will cease iCloud backups, uploads to iCloud photos and iCloud Drive, and updates to iCloud apps. And you won't be able to send and receive emails with your iCloud address.

Finally, Microsoft 365 comes with 5 GB of free cloud storage with OneDrive and 15 GB of mailbox storage. To check your usage, sign into your Microsoft account on your device and select the Microsoft storage icon. You can also upgrade to add more space.

Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) suggested that people could “die” as a result of President Donald Trump accusing former President Barack Obama of treason.

Himes joined MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Tuesday where he argued that accusations from Trump and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard against Obama could be the foundation for a new Jan. 6 Capitol riot-like event. Himes dismissed the claims from Trump and Gabbard as a “distraction” from fallout over the “Epstein Files.”

The lawmaker said:

What troubles me most about this, Nicolle, is that I’m standing in a spot that on January 6, 2021, was overrun by a violent mob intent on hanging the vice president and killing people like me, and it was all driven by a lie propagated by Donald Trump. And now we’re seeing that playbook again. And my only question is, when people like Tulsi Gabbard and Donald Trump accuse a president of a capital crime that is punishable by death, who is going to die? Who is going to die because they’ve decided that they need a distraction away from the Epstein calamity which they brought upon themselves?

Gabbard accused Obama and other officials in his administration of being involved in a “treasonous conspiracy” against Trump.

According to Gabbard, Obama and others used a probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to target Trump and “subvert the will of the American voters.” Multiple intelligence agencies did determine Russia made efforts to influence the 2016 election. Gabbard has cited documents now claiming that Russia didn’t “have the tools, the capability, or the intent to try to change the outcome of the US presidential election.”

At the White House this week, Trump flat-out accused Obama of treason, something Himes said could provoke fringe people. The lawmaker predicted there will be no practical movement on prosecuting Obama or anyone else as prosecutors would be “laughed out” of courts.

He argued:

When you use language like treason, and I mean, go into my social media feeds because I’ve been trying to tell the truth about this ever since Tulsi put out this staggeringly disprovable and instantly disproval lie, when you start using the kind of language, the language of treason and of somebody being a traitor, some tiny percentage of the population is just crazy enough to decide that they need to do something about it. And again, it’s what happened where I am standing right now on January 6, 2021. The statements of a president have some power.
