Judge Tosses Out Alex Jones Attempt to Dismiss Lawsuit From Sandy Hook Parents

By News Here - 00:05

A judge denied an effort by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed against him by the parents of a child killed in the Sandy Hook mass shooting, per reports.

Veronique De La Rosa and Leonard Pozner brought the lawsuit against Jones and his media company Infowars. They are the parents of Noah Pozner, who was 6 years old when he was killed in the 2011 shooting Jones and Infowars repeatedly claimed was staged. Pozner was one of 20 children killed in the shooting.

Judge Scott Jenkins of the 53rd District Court in Texas ruled Jones must face the claims from Pozner’s parents.

Jones repeatedly pushed false claims on Infowars that the shooting was a staged “false flag” operation, and its victims “crisis actors.”

Per the New York Times:

After Mr. Pozner succeeded in getting an Infowars video casting doubt on the shooting removed from YouTube, Mr. Jones showed his audience Mr. Pozner’s personal information and maps to addresses associated with his family, court documents say. Mr. Jones also falsely accused Ms. De La Rosa of participating in a faked interview with Anderson Cooper of CNN after the shooting, according to court documents.

Subsequent death threats and harassment have forced the Pozner family to move seven times. They currently live in hiding.

The case is one of three defamation lawsuits against Jones filed by families of Sandy Hook victims.
