Trump Reportedly Had a ‘F*cking Weird’ Debate With Vietnam Vets Over Napalm and Agent Orange
The stories coming out of the White House just keep getting stranger and this one is no exception.
And yes, it involves Omarosa Manigault.
Back while President Donald Trump and Manigault were on speaking terms, Trump sent her to a White House meeting with veterans.
The veterans saw having a former Apprentice contestant there, in lieu of the commander in chief, as a slap in the face.
So then, a second meeting was scheduled which Trump attended. That meeting bizarrely turned the conversation to napalm and Agent Orange.
The meeting took place on March 17, 2017.
The Daily Beast reports that it went downhill fast.
After some vocal public shaming from military veterans and advocates, Trump, accompanied by Manigault-Newman, met with principals from various vets organizations in the Roosevelt Room on March 17, 2017.
The event nearly degenerated into a uniquely Trumpian trainwreck.
During this White House meeting, certain details of which have not been previously reported, the president managed to again annoy and confuse U.S. war veterans, this time by getting into a bizarre, protracted argument with Vietnam War vets present about the movie Apocalypse Now and the herbicide Agent Orange.
During the debate, Trump seemed to insist that the movie was talking about Agent Orange. Some of the veterans in the room told him it was napalm.
Trump reportedly never really relented and instead, after being told by yet another veteran that it was napalm blurted out, “Well, I think you just didn’t like the movie” and moved on.
One of the veteran attendees told The Daily Beast the whole thing was “really f-cking weird.”
