CNN’s Chris Cuomo told Don Lemon tonight Congressman Matt Gaetz––who tweeted a threat to former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen––is basically trolling for attention.

Lemon asked Cuomo if he’s ever seen anything like Gaetz’s tweet before. “In this new reality of overt manifestations of obnoxious political behavior,” Cuomo said, “this ranks high.”

But he said Gaetz is clearly trying to brand himself as a conservative provocateur:

“Matt Gaetz is developing a little bit of a persona of being a provocateur. He’s a little bit like a baby Trump in that regard. He knows that if he is provocative, it gets him attention and it gets him noticed and it distinguishes him, and let me tell you, he’s got a lot of friends in the White House. He’s got a lot of love in the White House. So do I think that he was trying to chill Michael Cohen? No, I do not. I think he was trying to get attention and he go it.”

Lemon said he thinks it’s both, calling this whole thing “really disgusting.”
