Trevor Noah: Fox News Seems Like a ‘Giant Caravan of Dangerous Extremists’
On Tuesday night, Trevor Noah went after President Donald Trump and Fox News for “fear-mongering” about the migrant caravan heading towards the U.S. border.
Noah began by blasting Trump’s decision for sending “the same amount of troops” to the border as he did to “fight ISIS” and since they’d likely outnumber the number of migrants, it’d become a “giant game of Red Rover.”
“I think the reason Donald Trump is sending troops to these asylum seekers instead of help because in his mind, this is an invasion,” Noah told the Miami crowd. “And when I say ‘in his mind,’ I mean is on Fox News.”
The Daily Show host then showed various clips of Fox News hosts and pundits referring to the caravan as an “invasion.”
“Really? An ‘invasion?’ Get the f**k out of here, man!” Noah reacted.
He said his “big problem with the fear-mongering” is that “Trump and his friends don’t seem to what they’re afraid of,” pointing to various talking points about how the majority are “strong,” “strapping” young men yet they’re “coming with diseases.”
“That’s right, these migrants are both super strong and riddled with diseases,” Noah joked.
However, he brought his attention back to Fox News, saying that “some of them are good people.”
“Because even though this network might seem like one giant caravan of dangerous extremists, I believe there are people in there who mean well,” Noah said, followed by a shoutout to Fox News anchor Shep Smith.
