The president of a conservative think tank claimed that liberals want abortion to be legal “until three days after the person’s born.”

Dr. Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation joined Saturday’s installment of The Weekend, where host Symone Sanders-Townsend asked him about abortion. The issue is top of mind this year, in what is the first presidential election since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion. Since then, several states have banned the procedure and many Republicans have been clamoring for a national ban.

The Heritage Foundation has been pushing a series of policy proposals known as Project 2025, which they hope will be enacted if Donald Trump returns to the White House.

“You and the organization in this plan talks about changing the Department of Health and Human Services to the Department of Life,” Sanders-Townsend said to Roberts. “Do you think women in America should be able to get an abortion if that is what the doctor says they need?”

“Abortion’s not healthcare,” Roberts replied. “I find it really interesting, if not worse, that you wouldn’t support the change of the department name to the Department of Life. I thought we were all in support of life.”

His response prompted some crosstalk and the following exchange in which he claimed liberals somehow favor abortion after the baby is born:

SANDERS-TOWNSEND: I just wanna, no if I may though–

ROBERTS: Why aren’t we talking about the people who–

SANDERS-TOWNSEND: I just wanna know, do you believe–

ROBERTS: –are supporting legislation that abortion can happen until three days after the person’s born. This is an absurd framing by this network.

SANDERS-TOWNSEND: That is absurd and an absurd assertion! As a person with an actual womb, I’m telling you, that does not happen.

[CROSSTALK]

SANDERS-TOWNSEND: Dr. Roberts, does Heritage and Project 2025 believe that a woman should be able to have an abortion if her doctor says she needs one? This is a yes or no question.

ROBERTS: Abortion is not healthcare. Abortion is the murder of a human being.

SANDERS-TOWNSEND: All right, well, I disagree thoroughly, Dr. Kevin Roberts. But I am so glad that you were here.

Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump told a faith group on Saturday that their faith will not be safe if President Joe Biden is reelected, and that “they want to arrest you” if state your allegiance to “God in Heaven.”

“If you say that, they want to arrest you,” he said.

Trump delivered the keynote at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority Conference” on Saturday, an annual event for the group founded by Religious conservative Ralph Reed, formerly of the Christian Coalition. Other speakers at the event included frequent candidate Kari Lake, Republicans Sen. Josh Hawley and Sen. Joni Ernst, former Trump official Dr. Ben Carson, former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and many other Republicans in policy and media.

During his keynote speech, Trump repeatedly stated he had done more for religious voters than any president, and that he’s suffered more “wounds” than any other president because of it.

Trump also told the religious conservative audience that Christianity and all faiths are under attack from Biden and his administration and stressed the necessity of voting.

“As you know, the radical left is trying to shame Christians, silence you, demoralize you, and they want to keep you out of politics,” said Trump. “They don’t want you to vote. That’s why you have to vote.”

“If Joe Biden gets back in, Christianity will not be safe,” Trump said. “In a nation with no borders, no laws, no freedom, no future. Not going to be safe. You’re not going to be safe as a person, and your religion certainly will be, I think, in tatters.”

“We answer to God in Heaven,” said Trump of religious voters. “You’re not even allowed to say that anymore. Today, if you say that they want to arrest you. If you say that, they want to arrest you.”

He then went on to praise the placement of the Ten Commandments in public schools, referring to the new law in Louisiana.

But we need Christian voters to turn out in the largest numbers ever to tell Crooked Joe Biden, Joe – the Apprentice – Joe, you’re fired. You’re fired, joe, get out of here, Joe! You’re no good. You’ve been the worst president ever. You’re fired, Joe! Get out! No, worst president in the history of our country.

As you know, the radical left is trying to shame Christians, silence you, demoralize you, and they want to keep you out of politics. They don’t want you to vote. That’s why you have to vote. They are counting on you not, because if you vote, nope, we cannot lose. They don’t want you to vote.

But Christians cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. If Joe Biden gets back in, Christianity will not be safe in a nation with no borders, no laws, no freedom, no future. Not going to be safe. You’re not going to be safe as a person, and your religion certainly will be, I think, in tatters. You want to know the truth? I think in tatters.

The reason the radical left will always come after religious believers is simple. Because they know that our allegiance is not to them. Our allegiance is not to them. Our allegiance is to our country, and our allegiance is to our Creator. And we do not answer to the bureaucrats in Washington. We answer to God in Heaven. You’re not even allowed to say that anymore. Today, if you say that they want to arrest you. If you say that they want to arrest you.

Donald Trump claimed that if he took his shirt he would have more “wounds” than any other president in the history of the U.S.

The former president spoke at the Faith and Freedom Conference on Saturday where he claimed Christians needs to come out and vote for him in November in order to “defend religious liberty”  from Communists, Marxist, and Fascists.

Trump then told his supporters on Saturday that if he were to take off his shirt in front of them they would “see a beautiful, beautiful person” but with “wounds all over me.”

Trump then said he was “treated the worst” of any president, including both Andrew Jackson, who survived an assassination attempt, and Abraham Lincoln, who of course did not survive his.

Lincoln was famously assassinated by being shot in the head in front of his wife near the end of the American Civil War.

Just think of what we’ve already achieved, and we’ve done things that nobody thought possible. Together, we stood up to the communists, Marxist, and fascists to defend religious liberty like no other president has ever done.

And I have the wounds all over my body. If I took this shirt off, you’d see a beautiful, beautiful person. But you’d see wounds all over, all over me. I have taken a lot of wounds, I can tell you. More than I suspect any president ever.

You know, in history – and I’ve read, I love the, I love this stuff – But, in history, they say Andrew Jackson was treated the worst. President Andrew, he was a great general and a very good president. And Abraham Lincoln was second worst. Now he had a civil war. So, you know, you sort of think that was understood. And now they’re rewriting the books. Trump was treated the worst, Andrew Jackson second and Abraham Lincoln third. But I definitely took top spot. I took some. And I’m honored to do it. And here we are looking for more. How about that? I could right now be home, I wouldn’t be in court. I wouldn’t be in courts all over the land. All started by Crooked Joe Biden and his group of thugs.

A Trump supporter who claimed to be a nurse complained about migrants at his hospital, griping “They don’t even speak English!” and blaming them for disease outbreaks.

Trump held a rally in Racine, Wisconsin on Tuesday and as usual, pro-Trump media outlet Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) was on hand to interview members of the crowd waiting to get in before the rally, to cover the opening acts, to carry the speech, and to gush about Trump in between all the action.

Vanessa Broussard and Jessica Rivera drew the crowd duty, mingling with Trump supporters who camped out and lined up starting in the early morning.

Hours before Trump’s speech began, Broussard encountered “Matt,” who heaped complaints about migrants that included supposed outbreaks of diseases like measles and TB — even as Trump promises to punish schools with vaccine mandates:

VANESSA BROUSSARD: So, where are you from? What’s your name?

NURSE MATTHEW: Names Matthew I’m from one of the suburbs of Chicago area.

VANESSA BROUSSARD: What’s it like over there in Illinois?

NURSE MATTHEW: Well, where do we start? It’s a mess. There’s a lot of crime. The taxes are too high. There’s migrants all over the place. They’re housing them in the police stations, out in front of the police stations. It’s a disaster.

VANESSA BROUSSARD: That sounds like a disaster. That’s the first I’ve heard that they’re housing them in the actual police stations.

NURSE MATTHEW: Yeah, and then there’s actually a measles, I work as a nurse, so there’s actually a measles outbreak and an outbreak of TB as well, tuberculosis. So yeah, it’s not going well up there.

VANESSA BROUSSARD: Thank you.

I don’t know. We’re down there.

VANESSA BROUSSARD: Let’s talk about that when these I know you know we have laws that we have to abide by and privacy laws when it comes to health care but when they come in you know I have to have insurance when I go to the doctor they just come in and get free care

NURSE MATTHEW: Yeah, they can go into the ER and get free care. I mean, I don’t think they’ll turn anybody away, but it’s just a drag on the system. And I mean, I’ve taken care of patients that are, they don’t speak any English, they don’t have any documentation of US citizenship, and it’s just a drag on our system. And then there’s so many diseases that were eradicated at some point in this country like measles and TB, and we’re seeing a resurgence of that. It’s not good, it’s really not good.

VANESSA BROUSSARD: Not good at all. And you’re hearing it right here on Right Side Broadcasting from an actual nurse who sees all this going on in Illinois and the illegal immigration that’s affecting our country and affecting our health care. They’re on our streets. They’re bringing in diseases. And Joe Biden is saying, the more the merrier, everybody come on in. Everyone’s welcome. We’ll take care of you.

NURSE MATTHEW: Yeah, yeah, bring them bring them on in. Yeah, no, no, it’s it’s there’s so many Americans here that need help. There’s so many people with mental health problems that are on the street, homeless veterans. That’s like they’re just being kicked to the curb while we’re taking care of people that don’t belong here. And I get it. You know, we have to be passionate towards people like I understand that I’m a very compassionate person in the position that I’m in. But we need to help ourselves first. If you don’t, if you don’t help yourself first, you can’t take care of anybody else.

CNN analyst Katelyn Polantz expressed astonishment that Judge Aileen Cannon wanted to hear arguments from unrelated parties on whether Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump should be dismissed.

Judge Cannon — a Trump appointee — held a hearing Friday on Smith’s appointment, the gag order request, and other issues.

On Friday’s edition of CNN Newsroom, Polantz told anchor Wolf Blitzer that Cannon is taking the “unusual” step of hearing arguments from “people that have nothing to do with this case”:

WOLF BLITZER: Trump’s legal team is back in federal court and taking direct aim at the prosecutor in a classified documents case. The former president is arguing that Jack Smith was unlawfully appointed as the special counsel.

Smith has brought charges against Trump in both Florida as well as right here in Washington, D .C. Joining us now is senior crime and justice reporter Katelyn Polantz. Katelyn, walk us through what is happening in court today.

KATELYN POLANTZ:

Donald Trump isn’t there in person, but we’re more than an hour into this hearing and it’s Judge Cannon listening to legal arguments about a topic she wanted to hear quite a lot about, the authority and the validity of the special counsel’s office, their ability under the Constitution to bring a charge against someone like Donald Trump, or anyone, really.

This is an issue that other judges have heard arguments on or even just looked at because defense teams like Trump’s have brought it before them and they dismissed these sorts of things very quickly and said, “Now this isn’t a valid legal argument, special counsel’s offices can bring cases in the Justice Department, in the federal system and take them on to trial.”

But Judge Cannon wants to hear hours of arguments on this, not just from the special counsel’s office and Donald Trump’s team and his co -defendants teams, but also from law professors, people that have nothing to do with this case, but told her that they have opinions that they want to share about it.

That is so unusual, in any case, Wolf, especially at the trial level, especially in a criminal case, but there’s Judge Cannon hearing this in the first of three days of arguments on things she’s going to have to figure out before trial.

But how long that may be and when that trial may happen, a lot of question marks there.

There are a lot of reasons someone might choose to be child free, either for a short time or permanently. Some folks just don’t have any desire to be parents, some can’t afford to be parents, and some parents just need a break from their kids from time to time (which is totally normal and okay). Whether it’s a lifestyle choice or just a weekend, going places where you’re guaranteed to see no children can be a godsend.

Of course, just because you’re not bringing any kids doesn’t mean other people won’t. Some folks seem to believe that children should be welcome everywhere, in every situation, no matter what. And some people can’t afford childcare and have no choice but to bring their kids places they might rather not. Whatever the reason, you can’t always guarantee you’ll have a child-free experience—unless you plan ahead and choose your destinations wisely. Here are some of the best places to go when you don’t want to be around any kids.

55+ communities

If your desire to see no kids is an active lifestyle choice, you might consider living in a 55+ community following the 80/20 rule. These communities require that 80% of the homes be occupied by at least one person aged 55 or younger, which leads to two important scenarios: One, you can still live there even if you’re not yet 55 years old as long as there’s an opening and the ratio works out; and two, the chances of having kids in the community is very low. Not impossible, of course, but people with young children are unlikely to view a 55+ community as an ideal place for their kiddos to make friends and live their best lives. If you’re hoping to avoid kids pretty much all the time, this might be your solution.

Child-free resorts and cruises

If you’re planning a vacation or other kind of trip and want to deal with as few children as possible, you have a lot more options than you think:

• Hotels and resorts. It’s actually pretty easy to identify adults-only hotels and resorts. Expedia has a whole category you can select to view adults-only hotels, for example, and the site Adulty Hotels maintains a listing of several hundred hotels that exclude children that you can search. And if you’re looking for a really adult resort, you can seek out “sex-positive” vacation spots where you can let it all hang out.

• Cruises. There are more adults-only cruise options than you might think. Although often promoted as the ideal family vacation with ships littered with kiddie activities, there are a lot of adults-only options to choose from—heck, even Disney offers them. All of the cruises offered by Virgin Voyages are adults-only, for example, as are all Viking river cruises. And most cruise companies offer at least some adults-only cruises, you just need to look for them.

Restaurants

If you’re just looking for a night out without dealing with screaming kids or misbehaving pre-teens, finding an adults-only restaurant is just the ticket. While many restaurants aren’t specifically no-kids-allowed, there’s a growing trend of restaurants advertising themselves as “adults-only,” promising a dining experience free of chicken fingers and the buzz of multiple screens designed to (hopefully) keep youngsters occupied while the adults attempt to have a conversation.

There’s no easy directory of adults-only eateries, but a quick Google search in your area will reveal them—or use the age-old tactic of making a few phone calls to ask what their age policies might be.

Spas

Few spas will be explicitly adults-only (and there’s actually a trend of more family-centric spa offerings), but if you find a kid getting a facial or having a schvitz in the steam room, rest assured it’s still rare. If you’re looking to have a child-free experience for a few hours, book yourself a couple of treatments at a nice spa and enjoy the silence.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took the rare step on Wednesday night of replying to neo-Nazi troll and former Trump dinner guest Nick Fuentes on X, where Elon Musk has allowed the avowed hatemonger to post again.

The exchange began after Ocasio-Cortez posted, “An unspoken secret in Congress is that much of the reflexive, blind, unconditional vote support for nearly any Israeli gov action isn’t from actual agreement. It’s from fear. Reps are terrified of this. Of AIPAC. So they don’t vote their conscience. They vote their fear.”

Fuentes, who has long denied the Holocaust and called for the execution of non-Christians, endorsed Ocasio-Cortez’s takedown of AIPAC, saying, “AOC is more America First than 99% of Republicans.”

Ocasio-Cortez replied, “You are a white supremacist and I want nothing to do with you nor the world you imagine. I believe in a multiracial democracy, one of economic rights, civil liberties, and that affirms the working class and the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people.”

“These are not small differences. They are irreconcilable. White supremacy is a scourge and must be disavowed in all places,” she added.

You are a white supremacist and I want nothing to do with you nor the world you imagine. I believe in a multiracial democracy, one of economic rights, civil liberties, and that affirms the working class and the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people.

Fuentes was recently kicked out of a Turning Point USA event and yelled as he was being removed, “Israel controls this event!” Fuentes leads the so-called Groyper Army, a loose network of alt-right figures who are vocal supporters of white supremacy, often trolling mainstream conservative events to try and move conservativism more toward the far-right.

Fuentes has long been active on the far right in American politics and in the past has hosted a conference meant to be counter-programming to CPAC, which included speeches by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ). Reports have recently tied a former aide in Gosar’s office to Fuentes and the Groypers.

Fuentes dined with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort days after the former president announced his 2024 presidential campaign as a guest of anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West. Fuentes and West also later appeared on Alex Jones’s InfoWars where West declared his affinity for Hitler, a regular talking point of Fuentes.
