Olympian and Atlanta Dream center Brittney Griner appeared to hurl an expletive and racially-charged insult at Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark after fouling out of a game this week, social media users pointed out in a viral clip.

In the final minutes of the Fever’s 81-76 victory over the Dream, cameras appeared to capture Griner mouthing the words “trash” and “fucking white girl” in Clark’s direction as she left the court following her sixth foul.

The moment went viral on social media.

Griner previously claimed she has been hit with racial slurs during WNBA games.

Clark, the number one overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, finished the game with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists while shooting 4-of-12 from the field.

Griner scored just 5 points before fouling out with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

The win was a bounce-back for Indiana after falling to Atlanta two nights earlier, 91-90.

Clark rose to international superstardom during her college career at Iowa with record-breaking scoring and a large national following, has faced both praise and scrutiny in her first WNBA season. She currently leads all rookies in points and assists per game.

Griner, an Olympic gold medalist and former WNBA champion, returned to the league last season after spending nearly a year in a Russian prison.
