The House of Representatives has voted to block President Donald Trump‘s declaration of a national emergency on the border.
In a 245-182 vote, the Democrats were joined by thirteen Republicans to reject the president’s move.
House Republicans like Justin Amash were troubled by Trump taking such action, noting how their party was up in arms when Barack Obama took similar action as president.
The resolution now moves to the Senate, and a few Republicans have indicated they’ve either already decided to vote against it or are on the fence.
