Johnny Depp’s former bandmate and friend of 40 years testified that he had seen bruising on Amber Heard’s arm while she was married to Depp.

Bruce Witkin made the remark during a video testimony that was originally recorded on Feb. 17, 2022, and aired in the Virginia courtroom on Thursday.

“One time, yes,” Witkin said when asked if has seen bruises on Heard’s upper arm.

Witkin went on to confirm that he had never seen Depp hit Heard, but described a finger-shaped bruise on her arm, confirming it looked similar to bruising in photographs he was shown while on the stand.

“I mean, it looks similar to that, but it didn’t look like a— It looked like a grab, not a punch,” he said. “Like just someone grabbed her arm.”

He clarified that he noticed the bruise while Depp was working on a documentary about Keith Richards, saying that he saw Heard’s arm when she visited the studio.

“Like I said, it just looked like she was grabbed,” Witkin said. “That’s what it seems to me — finger marks.”

Witkin also said he knew Depp to have a “jealous streak” throughout his romantic relationships, including in his marriages with Heard and Lori Anne Allison — Witkin’s sister-in-law and Depp’s first wife.

“A lot of it was in his head and not in reality,” said Witkin.

Witkin touched on Depp’s 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, also the mother of Depp’s children, claiming the actor had “ridiculous” jealousy issues with her too.

“If she was on a film or doing something that he couldn’t be around it to see what was going on, I think he’d work himself up,” Witkin said.
