Fox News Guest Calls Out Network On Air for Pushing ‘Great Replacement Theory’

By News Here - 12:07

Democratic strategist Kristal Knight, during a guest appearance on Fox News, accused the network of spewing the same “great replacement” conspiracy theory embraced by the racist suspected gunman behind the Buffalo supermarket shooting.

Knight was on The Faulkner Focus Thursday, where Harris Faulkner asked her about Tesla CEO Elon Musk branding Democrats “the party of division & hate” while saying he will vote Republican.

Asked for her thoughts, Knight said she found it “interesting” Musk would say that about Democrats while she laid out the GOP’s track record.

“The Republican party produced a failed insurrection on January 6th. This is also the party that has supported the Big Lie,” Knight said. “We also see Greg Locke down in Tennessee has been preaching anti-Democratic rhetoric in the name of religion because he doesn’t like Democrats.”

From there, Knight took a shot against Fox News — bashing the network for giving a platform to the replacement theory.

We also have to remember the ‘Great Replacement’ theory that has been spewed on this network alone, and the Buffalo shooter referenced it. These are all remnants of the Republican party. That’s the party of hate.

“We’re gonna let them adjudicate that case without us commenting on it,” Faulkner responded, and when she turned the floor over to Charlie Hurt, he said “I just think the idea of taking a horrible, horrible, unthinkable tragedy like what we saw in Buffalo, New York and trying to advance a partisan political agenda off of it is just beyond reprehensible to me.”

Neither Faulkner nor Hurt directly engaged Knight’s accusation, even as Fox News’ opinion programming has come under heavy criticism from those accusing the network of fueling the Buffalo shooter’s repugnant ideologies. The accusation gravitates heavily around the shooter’s embrace of the replacement theory, which claims Democrats and elitists are trying to dilute White peoples’ political power by welcoming more immigrants into America.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson, in particular, has advanced the core concepts of the “great replacement” on numerous occasions. In the aftermath of the shooting, Carlson blasted his critics, accused them of using the violence for political ammunition, claimed the criticism of his rhetoric is an attack on free speech, and claimed not to know what the replacement theory entails (despite illustrating a clear understanding of it).
