‘Did It Drink From the Wrong Grail?’ Reporter’s Turkey Dinner Photo Goes Horribly Viral
Fox 5 D.C. anchor and reporter Erin Como had a tweet go viral over Thanksgiving, but not for any breaking news story. The journo shared a Thanksgiving meal photo that generated a lot of conversation, speculation, and in some cases, concern for the local dog population.
With obviously the best of intentions, Como took part in the modern holiday tradition of sharing photos on social media featuring the stars of the big meal; in this case turkey.
But this turkey looked .. Just. A bit. Different.
Look. At. This. Turkey. #GoodDayDC pic.twitter.com/IR3swHA1iK

People did indeed Look. At. This. Turkey. And they had a lot to say about its appearance. And, uh .. resemblances.

I’m dying I’m laughing so hard. There are SO many more replies worth seeing but it would take days to put them all in this post. Here are a couple of cartoons that I think can serve in summary.

Go figure there was a perfectly on-point Far Side cartoon.
The turkey is not a beagle, but people did want to know one thing:
Did you cook it in an electric chair
— The Cold November Name Li’l (@karengeier) November 25, 2021
The answer is that this is a roulade.
I mean, it is a turkey roulade, but generally you wanna do the glamor shots *after* it's been carved.
— A. A. Firdosi (@BlueCoreINC) November 25, 2021
Although as Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher points out, it’s not entirely a typical example.
I see people roulade-splaining and all I can say is this is why you don't leave the legs on when you roulade: because it looks like you murdered a dachshund. https://t.co/cXr5kcOVTt
— Tommy moderna-vaX-Topher (@tommyxtopher) November 26, 2021
But the best part of the whole thing is that this wasn’t even a typical Thanksgiving glamor shot.
The best part is… I didn’t even cook it - A professional chef did who was on our show and it was so delicious. This is a lesson in camera angles
— Erin Como (@ErinFox5DC) November 26, 2021
Como was in great spirits about the whole thing.
I just laughed out my nose
— Rich (@lastronaut__) November 26, 2021
This Twitter thread was the laugh I didn’t know I needed.
— Erin Como (@ErinFox5DC) November 26, 2021
Oh, Twitter. What would the holidays be without you? Saner, for sure.
