Andy Cohen Has Meltdown Over Times Square Alliance Threatening to Pull CNN Credentials Over an Umbrella
As Andy Cohen joined Anderson Cooper on Monday night to help CNN ring in the new year, he got indignant at one point by claiming New York authorities threatened the network to make him put down his umbrella.
It’s raining amid all of the festivities in the Big Apple, though Cooper and Cohen made it through most of their show so far by sharing an umbrella as they hosted from Times Square. Cohen claimed that someone from the Times Square Alliance repeatedly told him to ditch the umbrella, and eventually, he said that their representative threatened to pull CNN’s credentials for next year if they don’t get rid of it.
“This is like the Jim Acosta–Sarah Sanders thing,” Cooper remarked.
“This umbrella is such a threat to the Times Square Alliance?” Cohen asked incredulously. “And what does the Times Square Alliance do besides “F” with my New Year’s Eve?…This is some grade ‘A’ BS. Honestly.”
