Top House Dems: Whitaker Said He’ll Continue to Follow DOJ Regulations Regarding Mueller Probe

By News Here - 00:01

Top House Democrats Elijah Cummings and Jerrold Nadler spoke with acting AG Matt Whitaker today and said they’ve received a commitment he will testify before Congress in January.

Cummings and Nadler––respectively, the incoming chairs of the House Oversight and House Judiciary Committees––made the announcement in a statement this afternoon that also noted this important detail:

“In response to our various questions, the acting Attorney General affirmed that he was and will continue to follow all of the regulations, policies and procedures of the Department of Justice, including with regards to the Special Counsel investigation.”

Whitaker has come under scrutiny not just for questions surrounding the Mueller probe as a factor in his appointment, but for companies he was involved with. New reporting reveals Whitaker was aware of fraud complaints against World Patent Marketing as he continued to be an “active champion” of it.

Cummings today said the reporting is troubling.
