Giuliani Claims ‘A Lot’ of Trump’s Tweets Have Been ‘Helpful’ After Report Says Mueller’s Looking at Them

By News Here - 09:14

Rudy Giuliani today dismissed the idea that President Donald Trump‘s tweets are coming under scrutiny from the special counsel’s office.

The New York Times reported recently that as part of his probe into possible obstruction, Robert Mueller is looking at the President’s tweets. Trump has, of course, tweeted about the Russia “hoax” and “witch hunt” multiple times, and has both publicly and privately groused about Jeff Sessions.

On Face the Nation, Giuliani told Margaret Brennan, “Obstruction by tweet is not something that I think works real well. Generally, obstruction is secret. It’s clandestine. It’s corrupt.”

The tweets, he said, “don’t amount to anything but the man complaining about an unfair investigation.”

Giuliani defended Trump’s 1st Amendment right to defend himself before saying, “A lot of his tweets have been very helpful. The reason he may not have to testify is he’s laid out his defense.”
