Fox’s Gasparino: Twitter Briefly Considered Disciplining Trump After Attacks on Megyn Kelly

By News Here - 00:13

Known for using Twitter to bash the press, hurl personal attacks at his adversaries and occasionally threaten foreign powers, President Donald Trump might have once gotten close to being kicked off his favorite platform.

The network’s Charles Gasparino told Howard Kurtz he had been in touch with one senior official who revealed they thought about disciplining Trump before his election.

“The one time they said they actually seriously considered that was in the Megyn Kelly flap,” Gasparino said, referring to insults Trump hurled at Kelly on Twitter during the election.

However, Gasparino noted, the platform won’t take action against a political force like Trump.

“But they’re basically saying ‘Listen, we’re not going after Trump because we believe that he’s a vital voice, he’s the president, he uses Twitter,'” Gasparino added. “They say they are trying to be equal here. Now, it’s an imperfect equal, we know that.”

Gasparino said he was assured the company was taking measures to appear as neutral as possible despite mounting concerns it is biased against conservatives.
