Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said the Democratic establishment has been hijacked by rich donors and become “way, way out of touch” with the American public.

The socialist senator vented about the state of the Democratic Party during a Sunday interview on the MediasTouch On Sunday podcast.

Host Jack Cocchiarella pointed out a number of Democratic socialist candidates won Democratic primaries recently, which led some people to saying, “if you’re not going to just fit in nicely with the Democratic establishment, you shouldn’t be a Democrat.”

“Well, maybe the converse is true. Maybe the Democratic establishment should begin to understand they are way, way, out of touch with where the American people are,” Sanders countered. “That we don’t need a party anymore which is dominated by wealthy campaign contributors.”

Cocchiarella seemed to love the senator’s take, letting out a healthy “Yes!” as he went on.

“So when you talk about the Democratic establishment, it’s really relatively a few people. And they’re pretty open about it,” Sanders said. “You know, ‘the donor class said you or you should be the candidate for the senate,’ that’s what the ‘donor class’ says.”

Sanders continued, saying the Democratic Party should become a “party of working people, of young people, of people of color, of people who understand what it’s like to struggle, who are prepared to take on the oligarchs, who want to see the economy work for all, not just a few.”

His interview comes after a handful of other socialists won Democratic primaries in June.

Two of those candidates in New York — Darializa Avila Chevalier (D) and Claire Valdez (D) — are card-carrying members of the Democratic Socialists of America, just like NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D). The mayor backed both Chevalier and Valdez in their primaries. 

Beyond its socialist economic agenda, the DSA website said it is against Trump’s “racist immigration policies” and America being allied with Israel, which it said has committed a “genocide” in Gaza.

Soon after the primaries, Trump sardonically congratulated Mamdani on getting “solid Communists” elected. His tone shifted a few days later, when he said the communists have started to make “their move” in the USA.

“The game is on,” Trump said. “Enjoy watching!”

Trump has ripped the socialists and socialism plenty of other times recently, including when he said communism is a “cancer” which must be dealt with ASAP during his Fourth of July address.

He issued a similar warning during a speech last week in Georgia. Trump said it is really simple to understand: “With communism, everything turns to sh*t!”

CNN posted a scathing fact-check article immediately after Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s stunningly contentious interview on Sunday’s State of the Union, claiming the Health and Human Services chief pushed “medical misinformation” during his appearance.

Anchor Dana Bash grappled with Kennedy for 22-minutes about autism, measles, and Covid, with Kennedy accusing Bash of “saying nonsense” when she pushed back on his medical inaccuracies and attempts to politicize how the U.S. is planning for the next pandemic.

“In attempting to rewrite the history of the US Covid-19 response, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Sunday pinned the blame for pandemic lockdowns on Dr. Anthony Fauci, while simultaneously reviving a string of debunked assertions about vaccines, RSV and measles,” the CNN article by Aileen Graef and Katherine Dillinger began.

“As HHS secretary, Kennedy’s skepticism of mainstream science is no longer just outsider rhetoric; it now shapes official federal policy,” the article continued. “His efforts to reframe the pandemic’s legacy come as the US battles its worst measles resurgence in more than three decades — a crisis experts warn is fueled directly by the type of vaccine misinformation and institutional distrust Kennedy amplified during the broadcast.”

The article referred to Bash’s interview with Dr. Ashish Jha that she conducted immediately after the marathon Kennedy session. Jha served as the White House Covid-19 response coordinator under President Joe Biden from 2022 to 2023, and condemned Kennedy’s false claims.

“There was a lot of information that secretary Kennedy said that it just isn’t true. Just factually not true,” Jha said.

When addressing Kennedy’s claims about vaccines and autism, Jha said, “This has been an issue that we have settled over and over again. There is zero link between vaccines and autism. This stuff does get a little tiresome.”

On measles, Dr. Jha said, “The truth is that the last two years we’ve had more measles cases than the entire rest of the 21st century, the cases combined than the last two.”

Jha said he didn’t think it was a coincidence that the outbreak happened after the Trump administration stopped actively promoting vaccines.

Bash, then asked about gain of function research, “which is, you go into a lab, and you take a disease and you give it mutations in order to see what happens, to try to come up with potential help for it, vaccines for it, in the future. He said that RSV and Covid came from gain of function research.”

“First of all, no, RSV did not come from any gain of function research. Obviously, Covid remains controversial,” Jha said, adding, “I have come to conclude that [Covid] is more likely to have been a lab leak.”

President Donald Trump lashed out at Jeannine Pirro after the U.S. Attorney in Washington D.C. dropped criminal charges against an American Olympian who had been accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Trump blasted Pirro in a Truth Social post Saturday:

I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned in giant letters on it, and other elements of the surrounding area. There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS! President DJT

Trump followed up the post with several videos of people milling about near the reflecting pool.

Pirro sought Friday to dismiss the criminal case against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, acknowledging in a court filing that damage to the Reflecting Pool was caused by “flawed installation” rather than vandalism.

Hearn had pleaded not guilty earlier this month to one felony count of destruction of government property after he was accused of damaging the Reflecting Pool during a June 19 visit.

Pirro’s office said in court papers that new information provided after the indictment undermined the government’s original theory of the case.

“It was not until after the return of the indictment, that the DOI provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings (‘AIC’), and the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026,” according to the court filing.

The dismissal came after The Washington Post earlier this month revealed experts who said the lining peeled away most likely because it was incorrectly installed.

Dropping the case was a “true embarrassment” for Pirro, CNN’s Elie Honig said.

“It’s your job as a prosecutor to get the relevant information first. You don’t charge first and then figure it out. You get the information first and then charge,” the legal analyst said.

President Donald Trump went to bat during Friday’s Cabinet meeting for his highly controversial $1.8 billion “weaponization” fund, which he claimed is currently “dead” while making clear he wished it were not.

Trump’s Justice Department agreed to drop the fund earlier in the summer amid a bipartisan outcry, with critics claiming it would be a taxpayer-fueled “slush fund” for the president’s allies.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) has refused to back Trump’s nominee for attorney general, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, until Blanche provides written guarantee making clear the fund is dead once and for all.

Blanche conceded during his confirmation hearing that the fund in its current form could be revived at anytime.

“Just to be clear, do you agree with the acting attorney general that the anti-weaponization fund is dead? And why not just put that in writing?” a reporter asked Trump during the meeting.

“Well, it is dead, but, you know, I wish it weren’t, to be honest with you,” Trump replied, adding:

I think people were horribly treated, horribly abused — this has nothing to do with Todd, this was me — horribly abused. And I’d like to see them compensated for the pain. They lost their families. They committed suicide. Many people committed suicide. They went down for an innocent journey. And I’m not only talking about that — I’m talking about something that doesn’t even have to do with that — the way they were treated. The Biden administration and the Obama administration weaponized government and destroyed lives.

“But should they put it in writing? Do you agree to accept limits on the scope of the audit immunity deal in order to get Attorney General Blanche confirmed?” followed up various reporters yelling questions.

“Well, now, he should be approved forthwith. I mean, you’re never going to get a person like that. Everybody agrees to it. Don’t forget, Senator Cornyn thought he was phenomenal — until he lost. You know, when he lost — is that a correct statement? You come from Texas. I mean, he thought this was the most incredible person, and then, when he… Now he lost because of me. I endorsed somebody else. I mean, as soon as I endorsed the other person, the other became a rocket ship upward, and he lost,” Trump replied, jabbing Cornyn.

“And, you know, I think I’d be the same — I mean, I shouldn’t say that, but I’d be upset also, and so I fully understand it. He shouldn’t be that way, I shouldn’t be that way, but he is that way. He’s become a very angry person. And I understand you have a couple of others that… of course they’re the feed to, and you know, you’ll probably hear from them too,” Trump concluded, referring to Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), who has also insisted the fund be killed in writing before Blanche is confirmed.

If you have a Galaxy Watch, you probably already know you can install Samsung Browser on your device. What you might not know, however, is that your wearable web browser just got an excellent upgrade that makes it function even more like a desktop web browser. As reported by SamMobile, Samsung Browser for Galaxy Watch now lets you download images from webpages. That means if you stumble across a picture on the web, you can download it directly to your Galaxy Watch, rather than switch to your phone, tablet, or computer to save it.

How to download images on your Galaxy Watch's Samsung Browser

First, update Samsung Browser to its latest version, then open it and navigate to a webpage of your choosing. When you find an image you want to download, long-press on the image, and you'll see a new "Download Image" option. Tap it, and your image will save on your watch. You can find all downloaded images in the "Downloads" folder on the Samsung Browser home page.

SamMobile notes that this option doesn't seem to work until the website has fully loaded. As such, you may need to wait a bit longer than you might expect before you're able to download an image. In addition, there are some limitations: You can download PNG, JPEG, JPG, and GIFs up to 10MB. If you come across a different file type, or the image in question is too large, you won't be able to download it.

This should work on any Galaxy Watch that can run the latest version of Samsung Browser. However, if you're in the market for an upgrade, Samsung recently announced the Galaxy Watch 9 at its July Unpacked event. The watch is due out Aug. 7, so you can preorder it now or wait until it comes out to see if older Galaxy Watches come down in price.

CNN’s Dana Bash and Fox News’ Mark Levin found some common ground on the subject of cursing following a fiery Senate hearing in which Dr. Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times.

Both Bash and Levin blasted the use of profanity during the Wednesday hearing. Fauci faced tough questions from heated Republican senators over the Covid-19 pandemic, the virus’s origins, and lockdown measures previously taken. Many accused him of tarnishing his legacy, but Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) threw multiple expletives at Fauci, including asking him, “Who the f*ck do you think you were, doing that!?”

On Thursday’s Inside Politics, Bash played a clip of the heated moment with Moreno, who blasted Fauci over lockdown measures taken during the pandemic and said they were his motivation for running for office.

“Here I am, sitting in front of you six years later, saying: who the f*ck do you think you were, doing that!? It is a total disgrace, what you did to this country,” the senator said.

“Yup. That was a United States senator in a formal hearing directing an F-bomb at an 85-year-old scientist who devoted his life to public service and public health…Really?” Bash said.

The CNN anchor argued the moment “eroded Senate hearing decorum, whatever’s left of it, more than most.”

It was not the only curse word Moreno threw at Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. At another point, Moreno asked Fauci if he thought he was in “deep sh*t” because he brought a team of lawyers to the hearing.

Bash said the profanity allowed Moreno to break through the “cacophony” of criticism thrown at Fauci and she argued the use of curses is becoming a “stunning” trend in Washington, D.C., from President Donald Trump on down.

Bash echoed comments made by Levin about the moment at the Fauci hearing. The Fox News host took to X to voice his disapproval on Wednesday evenin.

“Call me a prude, but I do not like public officials using the “f -word” in public, where little kids can hear it or even proper adults don’t like it,” he wrote.

Evelyn has been chosen because she’s the worst version of herself—the version that has consistently failed in everything she’s tried, and thus the version with the most stored potential. Her emotional journey from nihilism and anger to love and acceptance as she learns to fight for what she loves is powerfully moving. Like the show, the movie leverages the character-building aspects of a multiverse, letting us see how a normal, regular person with normal, regular problems might face a terrifyingly abnormal challenge.

Galaxy Quest (1999)

If you want to lean a bit more into plain old funny stuff, this modern classic is perfect. There’s no multiverse here, but there is a lot of affectionate humor aimed squarely at sci-fi tropes (especially the Star Trek universe and its, er, passionate fans). Galaxy Quest was a Trek-like TV series that aliens called Thermians believe was a documentary. When their civilization is threatened by a villain named Sarris, they kidnap the cast (including Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, and Sam Rockwell) of the TV series to help them defeat Sarris, and, yes, hilarity ensues. But also a lot of heart and character development, if that’s your bag.
