MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow topped the charts Tuesday, getting the most viewers overall and in the key demographic of viewers age 25-54, and Fox News had the most viewers during breaking news coverage of Tiger Woods’ single-car crash in Los Angeles.

The Rachel Maddow Show was most-watched with 3.33 million total viewers, and also first in the demo, with 491,000. Tucker Carlson Tonight was a close second, with nearly 3.3 million total and 486,000 in the demo. Hannity was third in both total viewers and in the demo, with 2.91 million and 410,000 viewers respectively, according to data from Nielsen.

During breaking news coverage of Woods’ car crash, in which the golf legend suffered serious injuries, Fox averaged the most viewers from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with 1.74 million, and 298,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second, averaging 1.65 million total viewers, and 218,000 in the demo. CNN averaged the fewest viewers during this time, with 1.37 million total, but had the most in the demo, with 311,000.

MSNBC was most-watched in total day, with 1.61 million total viewers, and 224,000 in the demo. Fox and CNN tied for first in the demo, with 250,000, and Fox had the second-most total viewers, 1.58 million. CNN averaged 1.08 million total day viewers.

In prime time, Fox topped the competition in total viewers, averaging 2.81 million, and dominated in the demo, with 427,000. MSNBC was second, with 2.55 million total viewers and 365,000 in the demo. CNN was third, with 1.35 million total viewers and 338,000 in the demo.

Morning Joe on MSNBC was most-watched in the early morning, averaging 1.33 million total viewers, and 176,000 in the demo. Fox and Friends was second in total viewers, 1.15 million, and edged out MSNBC to be first in the demo, with 178,000. CNN’s New Day averaged 639,000 total viewers, and 145,000 in the demo.
