Giuliani Tries to End CNN Interview After Grilling on Trump’s Mueller Attacks: This is ‘Really Petty and Silly’

By News Here - 06:13

Rudy Giuliani tried to end his interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota on Monday morning, after the New Day host grilled him on President Donald Trump‘s attacks on the Russia investigation.

After a contentious back and forth on Giuliani’s claim that Michael Cohen doctored his tape recording of Trump, the lawyer dismissed the interview as “silly.”

Camerota continued to press. In light of Trump’s ramped up attacks on Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s probe, she asked Giuliani if his tweets indicate the president “was getting a little big nervous about the investigation.”

Giuliani argued the response proves Trump “doesn’t take attacks on him lightly,” and the investigation is “interfering with his ability to govern.”

“It’s a horrible thing that Mueller is doing,” he said.

After some more back and forth, Camerota said “hold that thought, Mr. Mayor,” and tried to throw to a commercial break.

“No, no, I’m going to leave after this one,” Giuliani said.

“We’ve scared you away?” Camerota asked.

“Oh yeah, you’ve scared me away, I look really scared,” Giuliani replied. “No, it’s starting to get useless. This conversation is getting really, really petty and silly.”

When Camerota pointed out that Giuliani said earlier in the interview that he would stay on “all day,” he accepted to continue the interview, as long as he was provided coffee.
