Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) — who felt Donald Trump’s wrath for recording a video message advising service members against following illegal orders — now says he’s “damn furious” that Trump is risking young Americans’ lives in war with Iran.

Trump released his own video announcement early Saturday morning, saying,”The administration has taken every possible step to minimize the risk to U.S. Personnel in the region even so — and I do not make this statement lightly — The Iranian regime seeks to kill the lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties.”

Trump added, “That often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now. We’re doing this for the future. And it is a noble mission.”

“Well listen, I’m just damn furious,” Crow told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Saturday. “You know, the man’s a five-time draft dodger. He’s an elite. And, you know, I went to war. I fought with working-class kids. They’re the ones that do the fighting and dying.”

Crow continued:

And how amazing of Donald Trump to say, you know, “That often happens in war.” And that’s a cost he’s willing to take. Great for him! It’s not his kids. It’s not his family. It’s not his billionaire donors who are having to go off and do it. It’s kids in towns across the country that have to pick up the guns, jump into the planes and helicopters, and get it done. And it’s kids that are sitting there at military bases in Bahrain like your video’s showing now, who are sitting in bunkers right now because Donald Trump is willing to take a chance with their lives. This is everything that’s wrong with our national security infrastructure and our policies. Elites make decisions. They talk tough. They pound their chests, and then everybody else is left holding the bag. Enough is enough.

Collins asked if Crow wanted to see a congressional vote on the military action.

“Heck yeah, I do,” Crow answered. “I think we should go back to D.C. right now. I’m willing to jump on a plane in an hour and go home and take up a vote on this, because that is what the American people deserve. They deserve accountability. They deserve to know who is willing to take chances with their national security, their kids’ lives, their taxpayer dollars. Let’s take the vote. I want names.”

Just hours before the U.S.-Israel strike on Iran, President Donald Trump spoke with MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough — with the president telling the MS Now host Iran was a “menace” that “had to be taken out.”

Anchoring special coverage Saturday alongside Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough dished on his conversation with the president right before the attack.

“I spoke late yesterday afternoon — I believe it was the first time I’ve spoken with the president since I reported about it on Venezuela — and I had been keeping up talking to people that were part of the negotiations for some time,” Scarborough said. “And what’s interesting is they left those negotiations feeling like some progress had been made. They said the tale would be [told] over the next 3 to 4 days.”

But Scarborough went on to note that Trump, on Friday afternoon, had hardened in his stance.

“I spoke to the president late yesterday afternoon and he seemed far more determined that Iran had been a menace to the United States for over four decades,” Scarborough said. “They had been, as we say here, the epicenter of terrorism. And they had to be taken out.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) claimed Friday that the video of Hillary Clinton’s deposition on Jeffrey Epstein will show the public how “unhinged” the former secretary of state became during her testimony.

Mace joined House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and other Republicans outside the Performing Arts Center in Chappaqua, NY, where Hillary Clinton testified Thursday and former President Bill Clinton is testifying today.

A reporter asked the group, “It’s our understanding that you guys asked Secretary Clinton yesterday about photos of her husband in the Epstein files. What was her reaction when you showed various photos for example of her husband in the jacuzzi that we’ve seen?”

“I’m going to let Miss Mace answer that,” Comer said while patting a grinning Mace on the shoulders and reminding her, “We’re on TV”

Mace laughed and said, “Okay, I got it, I’m not going to say anything.”

Mace continued:

Uh, no, she didn’t want to answer any questions about any of that, and deferred most of those most of those if not all of those to her husband, and he will be thoroughly asked about that today. You know, what did he know, what did he see? Because there are other people who have come forward like Kevin Spacey, who thought all of this was very strange and very high risk for a president of the United States, or former president. It was all very bizarre. But I asked her very pointed questions and you’ll see that in the transcript coming out, how she responded as well — screaming.

Comer said, “We will get the video out as quickly as we can get it uploaded with sound and everything from yesterday. So, this is — for all practical purposes —  this is a public deposition. The American people will see it. I have heard that C-SPAN is going to air it wire-to-wire. I think it will lead to a lot of questions with [Howard] Lutnick and other things like that.”

Regarding Bill Clinton’s testimony, Comer said, “Throughout the day we will try to send different members out. We don’t want to disclose what’s going on in the deposition specifically until after the conclusion, but we will keep you updated and appreciate everyone being here and look forward to updating you throughout the day.”

When Comer finished, a reporter asked, “Miss Mace, what do you mean that Hillary Clinton was screaming?”

Mace answered, “She was unhinged. I hope that President Clinton is less unhinged today than his wife was yesterday. You’ll see it.”

As Mace answered, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) smiled and nodded her head in agreement.

Amazon's Wish List feature is a versatile way to tell other people what gifts you're interested in. That might be a gift registry for a baby shower, or letting your friends and family know what you want for your birthday. But it's also commonly used for online creators to receive gifts from fans or for someone in need to receive donated items from strangers online who want to help. Up until now, we could rely on Wish List as a secure way for strangers to send items, without worrying about setting up a post office box. But going forward, Wish List now runs the risk of telling fans exactly where the creator lives—unless the creator takes action.

Amazon is putting addresses at risk with changes to Wish List

As reported by 404 Media, Amazon is recommending customers that use Wish Lists to change their shipping addresses to either P.O. boxes or non-residential delivery addresses. The company is making changes to Wish Lists, which could reveal the address you have on file for the feature. By leaving it as your home address, you are putting yourself at risk of doxxing—or revealing your personal address to strangers on the internet.

That's because Amazon is now removing the option to block purchases from third-party sellers for Wish List items. As such, anyone who buys items off your Wish List to send to you will be able to buy them from third-party sellers, and those sellers will have access to your delivery address. From Amazon's point of view, these changes give buyers more flexibility over the items they can buy from your list, but that unfortunately comes with an impact on your personal privacy. But it's not just sellers who will have access to this address: Buyers will, too, as they may see your address in shipping updates they receive throughout the buying process.

As 404 Media highlights, major shippers don't usually reveal addresses in these situations. But Amazon's changes mean that third-party sellers have it in their power to share this information themselves. What's more, if the delivery person ends up taking photos of the package to confirm delivery, that could leak even more of your personal details than you'd want—such as what your front door or driveway look like.

These changes aren't effective immediately, so if you use Amazon's Wish Lists, you don't have to worry about your home address leaking on the internet just yet. However, the company has set a deadline for March 25, so it's important to act fast if you want to protect yourself.

Below, you can read the email Amazon is sending the following email to Wish List users:

“We're writing to inform you about an upcoming change to Amazon Lists. Starting March 25, 2026, we will remove the option to restrict purchases from third-party sellers for list items. When this change takes effect, gift purchasers will be able to purchase items sold by third-party sellers from your lists and your delivery address will be shared with the seller for fulfillment. This change will provide gift purchasers with access to a wider selection of items when shopping from your lists...Important note: When gifts are purchased from your shared or public lists, Amazon needs to provide your shipping address to sellers and delivery partners to fulfill these orders. During the delivery process, your address may become visible to gift purchasers through delivery updates and tracking information. To help protect your privacy, we recommend using a PO Box or non-residential address for any list you share with public audiences.”

How to prevent buyers from seeing your address from your Amazon Wish List

If you have an online presence and want to protect your address, you'll need to update your address in Wish List settings. Head to this link, then choose "manage list." Here, you can adjust your Wish List settings to make it private, or to choose specific users to share it with. Hillary Clinton slammed the House Republicans for their handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case in a blistering opening statement.

On Thursday, Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee over her alleged ties to the deceased sex trafficker. In her opening statement, she denied any association with Epstein and claimed to have never visited his private islands or any of his other residences. She then criticized the committee for its handling of the investigation, adding:

Mr. Chairman, your investigation is supposed to be assessing the federal government’s handling of the investigations and prosecutions of Epstein and his crimes. You subpoenaed eight law enforcement officials, all of whom ran the Department of Justice or directed the FBI when Epstein’s crimes were investigated and prosecuted. Of those eight, only one appeared before the Committee. Five of the six former attorneys general were allowed to submit brief statements stating they had no information to provide.

You have held zero public hearings, refused to allow the media to attend them, including today, despite espousing the need for transparency on dozens of occasions.

You have made little effort to call the people who show up most prominently in the Epstein files. And when you did, not a single Republican Member showed up for Les Wexner’s deposition.

Clinton called the investigation an “institutional failure” that is “designed to protect one political party and one public official.” She continued:

Infuriatingly, the Trump Administration gutted the Trafficking in Persons Office at the State Department, cutting more than 70 percent of the career civil and foreign service experts who worked so hard to prevent trafficking crimes. The annual trafficking report, required by law, was delayed for months. The message from the Trump Administration to the American people and the world could not be clearer: combatting human trafficking is no longer an American priority under the Trump White House.

That is a tragedy. It’s a scandal. It deserves vigorous investigation and oversight.

A committee endeavoring to stopping human trafficking would seek to understand what specific steps are needed to fix a system that allowed Epstein to get away with his crimes in 2008.

A committee run by elected officials with a commitment to transparency would ensure the full release of all the files.

It would ensure that the lawful redactions of those files protected the victims and survivors, not powerful men and political allies.

It would get to the bottom of reports that DOJ withheld FBI interviews in which a survivor accuses President Trump of heinous crimes.

It would subpoena anyone who asked on which night there would be the “wildest party” on Epstein’s island.

It would demand testimony from prosecutors in Florida and New York about why they gave Epstein a sweetheart deal and chose not to pursue others who may have been implicated.

It would demand that Secretary Rubio and Attorney General Bondi testify about why this administration is abandoning survivors and playing into the hands of traffickers.

It would seek out officers on the front lines of this fight and ask them what support they need.

It would put forth legislation to provide more resources and force this administration to act.

Former President Bill Clinton was scheduled to testify on Friday.

Spotify's adding a new way to sort playlists for paying subscribers. The feature is called Smart Reorder, and it allows you to automatically sort your songs by BPM (beats per minute) and key. This is great for those who want to gradually bump up the intensity of the songs they listen to.

It's worth noting that this feature only works for playlists you've created or those you've mixed using the Spotify Mix feature, which lets you add or customize song transitions like a DJ would. Also, because Smart Reorder is an extension of Spotify Mix, you can't have one without the other. Spotify Mix hasn't yet been launched in all markets where the streaming service is present, including where I live, and as such, Smart Reorder isn't available in those regions yet. It's a shame, because I'm really excited to try it.

How to use Smart Reorder in Spotify

If you're a Spotify Premium subscriber, using the Smart Reorder feature is easy. Just open any of the playlists you've created or mixed, and tap the Edit button above the first song. Scroll to the bottom and select Smart Reorder. Spotify will automatically rearrange your songs by BPM, and you can tap the Save button up top to confirm the changes.

Smart Reorder should be a very useful feature for people like me, who prefer workout playlists that slowly bump up in intensity. I like to hear high BPM songs towards the end of my gym sessions or runs, but that might not be ideal for everyone. Some types of exercises, such as spin workouts, might be better off switching between high and low BPM songs as the intensity varies, and Smart Reorder wouldn't be great for those use cases. Some users on Reddit also suggested that you should create a copy of your playlists before using Smart Reorder on them, since you can't automatically restore playlists to their original order if you end up not liking the changes after saving them. To duplicate a Spotify playlist, open the playlist and tap the three-dots button above the list of songs. Select Add to other playlist > New playlist, then add a name for the copy and and tap Create.

This is another example of Spotify doing more with its AI DJ feature than Apple Music, where the AutoMix AI DJ feature has been more of a mixed bag for me. At the moment, AutoMix just handles song transitions, and Apple hasn't added any kind of custom playlist reordering to it.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) grilled U.S. Surgeon General nominee Casey Means over her influencer partnership with companies she had recommended online on Wednesday, accusing the Trump administration nominee of not “telling the truth” about payments she received.

“Dr. Means, are you familiar with FTC policy that requires those who are recommending products online to disclose their financial connection to those companies?” questioned Murphy during a Senate confirmation hearing. “In particular, the document from the FTC says this: ‘If you endorse a product through social media, your endorsement message should make it obvious when you have a relationship with the brand.’ Are you familiar with that?”

After Means confirmed, “Certainly,” Murphy continued, “So, as you know, there is a pending complaint regarding your failure to adhere to those guidelines, that basically makes the contention, and this committee has verified the data that underlies their complaint, that you routinely violated this policy and that, in fact, in the majority of your posts for many of the products you recommend, you did not transparently reveal your financial connection.”

“That’s false,” protested Means.

“Well, I’ll give you an example,” shot back Murphy. “So, there’s a prenatal vitamin called WeNatal. Your filings before this committee show that you started receiving compensation in the Spring of 2024, and yet in September of 2024, you posted a video saying that you had no financial relationship to the company, just a big fan, and then in October you said, ‘Not sponsored, just love these.’ But in fact, you have documentation before this committee that showed when you said those things you had a financial relationship. You had already started receiving money from that company.”

Means insisted, “In any post where I said I am not receiving money, I had not been receiving money at that time.”

“But you had received partnership fees for this particular prenatal vitamin,” replied Murphy. “In fact, prior to September and October, you had posted partnership links in which you get compensated based on click-throughs, correct?”

Means denied the accusation, responding, “I am happy to whatever documentation you’re talking about, but I do not– it’s incorrect and it’s a false representation. And just to be very clear, I’ve spent the last several months working with the Office of Government Ethics to be fully compliant with this process. I take it very seriously.”

“Before, during, and after, if I am in office, I will be in full compliance with the Office of Government Ethics,” she concluded. “I think, as I’ve talked about, conflicts of interest are incredibly important to rectify if we’re in public service and I am fully committed to continuing to work with that.”

The newest Galaxy series is officially here. Samsung announced its latest batch of flagship phones During its big Unpacked 2026 event. The company had announced as much ahead of the presentation but was silent on the name, though few will be surprised to learn this year's phones are the Galaxy S26 series—specifically, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. While the new devices look similar to last year's models, there are some new features and changes (including ones exclusive to the S26 Ultra) that may make them worth upgrading.

The S26 series comes with new Galaxy AI features

Since Samsung is all-in on AI, it's only fitting there are a couple of new Galaxy AI features making their debut on the Galaxy S26 series. First is the "Now Nudge," Samsung's answer to the Pixel 10's Magic Cue feature. Now Nudge uses AI to understand the context of what's currently on your screen and prompts users with helpful information, such relevant photos, calendar availability and more.

The Galaxy S26 series supports switching between three AI assistants at once. You can access Google Gemini and Bixby, of course, but users will now be able to use Perplexity as well. This includes hands-free voice commands (e.g. "Hey Plex.") Galaxy S26 users can utilize Perplexity to get info, manage tasks, or even navigate through their device using natural voice or text prompts.

Samsung is also upgrading Circle to Search with version 3.0. Now, users can circle multiple items within an image, such as a whole outfit, and Galaxy AI can identify and itemize each item at once. Then, there's Notification Intelligence, where the AI will prioritize your most important messages and notifications, such as conversations with humans, above promotional or subscription notifications. The higher priority notifications will appear higher in your incoming notifications list.

One of the S26 Ultra's exclusive features is Privacy Display, which allows users to make their screen only visible when viewing straight on, as if you're using a privacy screen protectors. Privacy Display can be enabled all the time or during certain conditions, like using certain apps or when entering a passcode or password.

All models in the Galaxy S26 series are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, a slightly overclocked version of the SoC exclusive to Samsung phones. Compared to last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the 8 Elite Gen 5 brings a 20% performance boost and 35% CPU power efficiency, thanks to the 3 nanometer manufacturing process. The new Adreno GPU in the 8 Elite Gen 5 should also improve graphics performance by 23%.

Like the Galaxy S25 series, all three Galaxy S26 models feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB on the S26 and S26+, while the S26 Ultra comes in an optional 1TB variant as well. All three come with 12GB of RAM, but the 1TB S26 Ultra comes with 16GB of RAM. Screen sizes have stayed relatively the same apart from the base S26, which has gone up to 6.3 inches:

• Galaxy S26: 6.3-inch display (2340 x 1080)

• Galaxy S26+: 6.7-inch display (3120 x 1440)

• Galaxy S26 Ultra: 6.9-inch display (3120 x 1440)

The base model S26 comes with a 4,300 mAh battery, up from the 4,000 mAh battery on the S25, while the S26+ stays with a 4,900 mAh battery and the S26 Ultra continues with a 5,000 mAh battery. The S26 supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, while the S26+ supports 45W wired and 20W wireless charging. The S26 Ultra, however, has the fastest speeds of all, with 60W wired and 25W wireless charging. Despite those speeds, the Galaxy S26 series does not support Qi2 with the built-in magnetic array like Pixelsnap on the Pixel 10 series. That being said, Samsung will happily sell you their official cases with magnets built-in and will offer a magnetic charging puck and magnet battery pack.

As far as the cameras go, Samsung isn't changing much with the Galaxy S26 series. The S26 and S26+ have the same 12MP ultra-wide, 50MP wide, and 10MP telephoto lenses as the S25 and S25+. The Galaxy S26 Ultra gets a slight upgrade, at least to the 200MP wide lens, which now comes with a new f/1.4 aperture. It carries over the 50MP ultra-wide and two telephoto lenses, 10MP (3x) and 50MP (5x), of the S25 Ultra. The 12MP selfie camera on all three models also hasn't changed from the S25 series. Thanks to the wider aperture on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can shoot what Samsung calls Nightography Video. It allows users to capture more detail in low light environments, to complement Samsung's Nightography photo mode.

Dan Bongino cursed out unnamed “f*cking lunatics” he said were harassing Erika Kirk, bombarding her with texts and social media posts falsely accusing her of involvement in the assassination of her husband Charlie Kirk.

The former deputy FBI director’s tirade came just one day after Candace Owens promoted her new “investigative series” called “Bride of Charlie.” The teaser focuses at first on Kirk’s killing in September before segueing into commentary about his widow and Israel. The announcement was met with widespread and loud pushback, including from top MAGA influencers.

Owens has pushed a conspiracy theory alleging Erika Kirk betrayed her husband murder for some time.

Opening his show on Rumble on Tuesday, Bongino slammed the accusations levelled at Erika Kirk as “the sickest thing” he’d seen in “a long time,” and warned escalating rhetoric around the subject was being pushed by some who “claim the mantel of our side.”

“We have to excise this cancer,” he said, as he added: “No movement can survive this.”

Rounding on “lunatics” he said had been harassing Erika Kirk, he continued:

Erika, I didn’t choose this man. She didn’t choose this. Imagine sitting there and you find out from Twitter or, I don’t know, text or a phone call or that your husband was just shot in the neck for the entire world to see on social media at a public event. I can’t imagine that. I know you can’t either.

Then you gotta go through this? Then you got a bunch of absolute f*cking lunatics, sending her emails: “You did it.” Comments, tweets? F*ck you! F*ck you! Go f*ck yourself, you demonic f*cking scum.

Bongino called for “everyone” to “restrain their emotions” and warned that there was “no turning back” after “going down the road of violence.”

Still, furious, he raged at those accusing Erika Kirk once again:

I’m sorry if the language distracts from you, but I can think of no other New York way to say it than f*ck you motherf*ckers! You deserve to feel the little licks of the flames of hell on every inch of your body. F*ck you. California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) fired back at Sean Hannity in an expletive-filled tirade on Monday, shortly after the Fox News star called out Newsom for what critics are calling a racist attempt to pander to Black voters by saying he is just like them because he got a low SAT score.

“You didn’t give a shit about the President of the United States of America posting an ape video of President Obama or calling African nations sh*tholes — but you’re going to call me racist for talking about my lifelong struggle with dyslexia?” Newsom posted on X.

He added, “Spare me your fake f*cking outrage, Sean.”

His post was in reply to Hannity sharing the viral clip of Newsom from the night before.

“I’m not, you know, I’m not trying to impress you. I’m just trying to impress upon you, I’m like you. I’m no better than you,” Newsom said during an Atlanta event promoting his memoir. “I’m a 960 SAT guy. And you know, I’m not trying to offend anyone [and] act ‘all there’ if you got 940. But literally a 960 SAT guy.”

Newsom then said the public has “never seen me read a speech, because I cannot read a speech” due to his dyslexia.

Hannity shot back at Newsom a couple hours later in another X post.

“Spare me your phony lectures about your impoverished life,” Hannity capped his response to Newsom’s response. “Tells us more about the Safaris you went on as a child. Your slick hair gel, shtick and b*llshit is getting old. You are the worst governor in the country.”

Hannity was not the only one who ripped Newsom for his SAT comments, which were shared on X by the “End Wokeness” account and racked up about 35 million views by 1:00 p.m. ET on Monday.

Megyn Kelly, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Nick Minaj, and Clay Travis were some of the prominent figures who blasted Newsom. Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) said on X that Newsom “just called black kids stupid. Voter ID isn’t racist. But Newsom sure is.”

Newsom’s next tour stop is in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Monday night.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent condemned Democrats on Sunday and said their rhetoric is putting President Donald Trump’s life in danger, shortly after an armed man breached the security perimeter at Mar-a-Lago before he was shot and killed by law enforcement.

“They are normalizing this violence. It’s gotta stop,” Bessent said during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News.

He told anchor Maria Bartiromo a moment later, “This venom from the left really has to stop. They normalize this violence.”

Bessent called out a new ad from Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton (D) in particular. The ad features several people saying “F*ck Trump,” and Stratton declaring she is “not scared of a wannabe dictator. I’m running for Senate to stand up to Donald Trump.” She also said she plans on holding “Trump accountable for the crimes he’s committed.”

The treasury secretary called the ad “profane” and said “that kind of venom” is “normalizing this violence.”

His comments came right around when authorities identified 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin as the man who entered Mar-a-Lago with a shotgun and a gas canister. The sheriff of Palm Beach county said Martin aimed his gun at officers before he was shot dead.

Bessent said that makes “two would-be assassins dead,” referring to Thomas Crooks, who shot Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania in 2024; Crooks killed Corey Comperatore with the bullet that hit Trump’s ear.

And Bessent noted that another man was in jail for trying to kill Trump, referring to Ryan Routh. He was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month for trying to attack Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach in 2024.

The treasury secretary told Bartiromo he felt the Secret Service was operating at a much higher level compared to 2024, but Trump and his family “shouldn’t have to endure attempt after attempt” on his life.

The man who was shot dead by law enforcement after breaching the security perimeter at Mar-a-Lago early Sunday has now been identified.

The Associated Press reported, and Fox News confirmed — among other outlets — that 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin was the man who, according to law enforcement, got inside the Mar-a-Lago perimeter with a shotgun and a gas canister.

“The Associated Press is out with some new details right now,” Fox News anchor Peter Doocy said during the open of The Sunday Briefing. “They have named — and we have confirmed the name — of the suspect, 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin. According to the Associatied Press in this bulletin that just crossed, he was reported missing by his family a few days ago. Investigators believe he headed south and picked up a shotgun along the way, and they think that because they found a box for the shotgun in his car.”

The AP added details on how Martin is believed to have gotten inside the security perimeter.

“It is now believed, according to the AP, that he might have piggybacked behind a vehicle entering Mar-a-Lago lawfully when the gate opened.”

Martin was shot dead by law enforcement after being asked to drop his shotgun and instead pointing it at officers, according to the local sheriff.

President Donald Trump initially dealt with his huge Supreme Court loss on tariffs by announcing he will impose a 10% tariff on goods from every country — effective almost immediately. Overnight, however, Trump changed his mind and upped the ante on his “retribution” for countries “ripping the U.S. off.”

Trump posted on Truth Social Saturday:

Based on a thorough, detailed, and complete review of the ridiculous, poorly written, and extraordinarily anti-American decision on Tariffs issued yesterday, after MANY months of contemplation, by the United States Supreme Court, please let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have been “ripping” the U.S. off for decades, without retribution (until I came along!), to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15% level.

He continued, “During the next short number of months, the Trump Administration will determine and issue the new and legally permissible Tariffs, which will continue our extraordinarily successful process of Making America Great Again – GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!”

Trump unveiled the original 10% tariff plan Friday shortly after the justices outlawed most of the global tariffs the president announced last April.

The court held in a 6-3 decision that the president had overstepped his executive branch powers in implementing the tariffs without congressional buy-in. The White House had cited the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which gives the president power to “regulate” trade in response to an emergency.

But lawyers for the states and small businesses that challenged the Trump administration argued that the IEEPA law made no mention of the word “tariffs,” which Trump has repeatedly claimed is his “favorite word.”

“They said that Congress did not intend to hand off its power to tax or give the president an ‘open-ended power to junk’ other existing trade deals and tariff rules,” the BBC reported.

Chief Justice John Roberts agreed, writing, “When Congress has delegated its tariff powers, it has done so in explicit terms and subject to strict limits. Had Congress intended to convey the distinct and extraordinary power to impose tariffs, it would have done so expressly, as it consistently has in other tariff statutes.”

Trump slammed the conservative Roberts, as well as two justices he nominated, Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch, for ruling against him.

Maybe Trump has been taking in a little too much Heated Rivalry content, because he had man-on-man action on his mind for the past few days.

It started Thursday morning when Trump caught himself musing about the “young, handsome” president of Paraguay during a “Board of Peace” event on Thursday and quickly disclaimed any attraction to men:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: President Penna [Peña] of Paraguay is here. President. President, thank you very much.

Young, handsome guy. It’s always nice to be young and handsome. Doesn’t mean we have to like you.

I don’t like young, handsome men.

Women, I like. Men, I don’t have any interest.

Then it was off to Georgia, where he toured a factory with Coosa Steel Chief Executive Officer Andrew Saville, whom Trump ribbed in front of reporters during a photo op:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: This gentleman has a now-great company. He was in big trouble two years ago, and then I put on the tariffs, and now he’s going round the clock, making the racks, making the steel, making everything that he makes.

And it’s just amazing what’s happened, that anybody can be complaining about tariffs.

He just said, “I’d give you a big hug if the press wasn’t out here, because the tariffs have really been a big difference.”.

COOSA STEEL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ANDREW SAVILLE: It’s been a game changer.

Trump gave a speech later, during which he introduced Coosa and escalated the action to “violently kissing”:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I’d like to ask the president of Coosa Steel, Andrew Saville — very nice name — to come up and say a few words.

I’d to say — because I’m telling you, I met this guy, and I — he said something that his wife is going to be extremely upset.

I said, “How are you doing?”.

He said, “President, if I didn’t have all these cameras running, I would grab you and start kissing you violently!”.

And I said, “Why is that?”.

He said, “Because what you’ve done for us economically in this state, in this town, with the tariffs in particular.”.

So I want to just introduce Andrew.

COOSA STEEL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ANDREW SAVILLE: And we couldn’t be more than happy to call you Mr. President.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Wow, good man.

Finally, at a briefing on Friday to blast the bombshell Supreme Court decision striking down his emergency tariff regime, he clarified that he did not want to be kissed, even by this “very strong, powerful man”:

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Yesterday, I was at a steel plant, as you know, and I went to a great, great place, great plant, great, wonderful people.

And they were telling me, I said to them, you were there, a lot of the press in this room. Of course, I don’t think the plane’s big enough to take the press in this room. But a lot of the press right here, we’re in Georgia.

I said to the owner of — I made a speech at a factory. They made steel products. And I said, how are you? Nice to meet you. How’s business?

“President, I’d love to kiss you.”.

This is a very powerful man. I don’t want to be kissed by that man.

But a very strong, powerful man who’s been in the steel business for many years. His father started it.

And he said, “Sir, I want to kiss you.”.

I said why?

He said “Because we were down to working one hour a week. And then you came in and imposed tariffs. And all of that foreign junk that they were dropping into our country stopped. And we’re now going to double shifts, seven days a week. And we may be, very soon, going to 24 hours around the clock, almost seven days a week.”

He said, “Sir, I want to kiss you so badly!”

And I said, “No, thank you!”

Trump is no stranger to this sort of humor, as his 2000 skit motorboating Rudy Giuliani in drag demonstrates.

The Supreme Court’s shooting down of President Donald Trump’s emergency tariffs on Friday didn’t require any great legal analysis but a simple recognition of the reality that no emergency existed in the first place to justify the sweeping tariffs – a point Trump himself has made over and over again in recent months.

Trump has long declared himself the “tariff king” and, in all three of his presidential campaigns, has argued against free trade that he has dubiously claimed “screws” the American people. In order to right that grievance last year, Trump announced global sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The IEEPA, which was signed into law in 1977, gives the president the authority to go around Congress to regulate international trade after declaring a national emergency on the sole grounds of an “unusual and extraordinary threat.”

Trump had repeatedly flaunted his own administration’s justification for the tariffs by making off-the-cuff remarks boasting of their success. He has regularly said he’s using his tariffs as a negotiating tactic with other countries, pushing allies and foes alike to bend to his will.

In January, Trump wildly threatened to levy tariffs against European countries that didn’t support his takeover of Greenland. In that case, turning the dynamic on its head as instead of using tariffs to combat a threat to the U.S., he used them to make NATO allies feel like they were, in fact, under threat from the U.S.

Trump also threatened tariffs on countries doing business with Iran, as a way to counter the Iranian regime’s mass slaughter of protesters. As well-intentioned as that threat may have been, it again made clear he was operating far outside the bounds of the IEEPA.

Trump had also made wild claims about the success of his tariffs, which in no way had to do with combating some “extraordinary threat” from abroad. Last December, Trump went so far as to claim his tariffs could bring in enough revenue (like a tax, which of course only Congress can levy) that they could replace income tax altogether.

“And I believe that at some point in the not-too-distant future, you won’t even have income tax to pay. Because the money we’re taking in is so great, it’s so enormous, that you’re not going to have income tax to pay,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting.

But, no comment was so blatant from Trump as what he said during a Fox Business interview in which he told Larry Kudlow earlier in the month. Trump recalled a phone call with the leader of Switzerland and bragged to Kudlow that he raised tariffs on the country because she was rude to him. Trump told Kudlow:

I got an emergency call from, I believe, the Prime Minister of Switzerland, and she was very aggressive, but nice, but very aggressive. “Sir, we are a small country. We can’t do this. We can do this, we can’t.” I couldn’t get her off the phone. “We are a very small country,” and I said, “You may be small, but we have a $42 billion deficit with you.” “No, no, we’re a small country.” Again and again and again. I couldn’t get her off the phone, so it was at 30 percent. I didn’t really like the way she talked to us, and so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39 percent.

Ignoring the fact that Switzerland has a president, Trump’s anecdote was just the latest evidence that he viewed his tariffs as more a personal plaything than as the dire emergency measure the law intended them to be.

Justice Neil Gorsuch explained in his concurring opinion striking down the tariffs why he viewed Trump’s actions as so far outside the spirit of the law.

“For those who think it important for the Nation to impose more tariffs, I understand that today’s decision will be disappointing. All I can offer them is that most major decisions affecting the rights and responsibilities of the American people (including the duty to pay taxes and tariffs) are funneled through the legislative process for a reason,” wrote Gorsuch, adding:

Yes, legislating can be hard and take time. And, yes, it can be tempting to bypass Congress when some pressing problem arises. But the deliberative nature of the legislative process was the whole point of its design. Through that process, the Nation can tap the combined wisdom of the people’s elected representatives, not just that of one faction or man. There, deliberation tempers impulse, and compromise hammers disagreements into workable solutions.

And because laws must earn such broad support to survive the legislative process, they tend to endure, allowing ordinary people to plan their lives in ways they cannot when the rules shift from day to day. In all, the legislative process helps ensure each of us has a stake in the laws that govern us and in the Nation’s future.

Gorsuch so eloquently explains why Trump, over and over again, revealed just how illegal his tariffs were, because they were never about fighting off some emergency, but instead about fulfilling Trump’s latest impulses, whatever the consequences.
