Emily Ratajkowski Says Robin Thicke Groped Her During ‘Blurred Lines’ Video Shoot
Model Emily Ratajkowski alleges in an upcoming book that singer Robin Thicke groped her while filming the music video for “Blurred Lines.”
The controversial hit song, which prompted both protests and conversations about consent, featured Ratajkowski half-naked.
“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind,” Ratajkowski wrote in her upcoming book, “My Body,” the New York Post and other outlets reported on Saturday. “I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke.”
She wrote that Thicke appeared intoxicated and that the experience made her feel “naked for the first time that day.”
“I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body,” she said. “I didn’t react – not really, not like I should have.”
The video’s director, Diane Martel, confirmed to the Sunday Times of London that Thicke had groped Ratajkowski.
“I remember the moment that he grabbed her breasts, one in each hand,” she said. “He was standing behind her as they were both in profile. I screamed in my very aggressive Brooklyn voice, ‘What the f–k are you doing, that’s it! The shoot is over!’”
