Georgia’s GOP Lt. Gov. Reveals ‘Folks in My Inner Circle’ Have Been Sharing Election Conspiracy Theories With Him via Facebook, Twitter
Georgia’s Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan revealed that even close acquaintances of his were sending him pro-Trump election conspiracy theories about voter fraud in his state, acknowledging that “certainly it troubles me.”
During an appearance on CNN’s OutFront on Monday evening, Duncan acknowledged that the constant barrage of false claims from President Donald Trump and his campaign supporters about widespread fraud in the Georgia election has distorted reality.
The president has been targeting any elected official perceived as disloyal for weeks. And after Georgia certified its vote as a Biden victory after a hand recount two weeks ago, Trump’s rhetoric has ramped up in its intensity. Trump has repeatedly singled out Georgia’s secretary of state, also a Republican, for criticism after the state’s top election official failed to back the president’s baseless claims of voter fraud.
In her segment with Duncan, host Erin Burnett confronted him with footage of Georgia residents expressing distrust and confusion over the state’s election results. “Are you worried,” she asked, “that people may just believe that this was rigged even though obviously that’s not true?”
“I’m very concerned about the amount of misinformation that continues to fly around,” Duncan conceded. “I mean, folks in my inner circle that are very educated, very successful individuals, sending you a screenshot of a Facebook post or a Twitter post that takes 30 seconds to debunk. That’s concerning to me, you know, and certainly it troubles me that some folks are willing just for the sole intent of flipping an election, of spreading misinformation.”
“I think we’re better than this,” Duncan added. “Certainly there are better days ahead than what we are in right now.”
Burnett then replayed several recent Trump tweets where he directly attacked and insulted Georgia’s staunchly pro-trump governor, Brian Kemp, and publicly expressed remorse for having endorsed him in 2018.
“How do you even react to that?” Burnett pressed.
“Well, I get to work with these folks everyday,” Duncan said, defending Kemp and Raffensperger — and implicitly pushing back on Trump and his surrogates. “Just because the guy we all three voted for isn’t in the lead does not change any of our job descriptions. We are focused on representing the 11 million Georgians. And the five million people who voted deserve for the right for their votes to be counted.”

Lara Trump Insists Trump ‘Will Get Four More Years’ as Fox News Anchor Points Out That Ship Has Sailed
Lara Trump baselessly claimed on Fox News Monday that President Donald Trump will serve another four years in office, as Martha MacCallum pointed out it is almost certainly too late for that.
As MacCallum discussed Georgia with Trump, she asked about the concern that Republicans who support Trump could stay home because of the distrust in the system being ginned up by the president and his allies.
MacCallum mentioned the president’s “legacy,” to which Trump actually responded, “I still think that the president will get four more years in office. I think it will be the next four years. Because this thing is far from over.”
Case after case from the Trump legal team has been rejected by judge after judge, and even some notable allies of the president have been publicly acknowledging the fact that it’s over.
Also, crucially, states are certifying their results, which MacCallum made a point of highlighting.
“You heard Geraldo moments ago say it’s time to accept the outcome of this. What are you seeing or hearing out there that he is not?” MacCallum asked.
Trump dismissively said the certifications are just “procedural steps” and insisted they have “plenty of time” before the final national results are certified.
She absurdly claimed that the president “legitimately won this election” and that they believe “the result in Georgia is going to change.”
As for all those legal setbacks, Trump said, “We had some rulings, some judges that quite frankly to be honest, I do not think were on our side. Did not, for whatever reason, like this president.”
A judge appointed by Trump rejected the campaign’s case in Pennsylvania just last week.

Lou Dobbs Rages at FBI, DOJ, Bill Barr, Brian Kemp, ‘RINOs,’ and the ‘Deep State’ as He Frantically Tells Trump They’re Trying to ‘Overthrow Your Presidency’
Lou Dobbs is completely digging in on President Donald Trump’s baseless claims of the election being stolen from him, even telling the president in a direct message on air that people are trying to “overthrow” him.
States have continued to certify results, including ones where the Trump legal team has thrown out challenge after challenge that has been rejected by judges, including a Trump appointee just this past week.
After briefly covering the encouraging vaccine news, Dobbs opened his show questioning how Biden could’ve possibly won the election when he had such a “poor performance.”
He went on to speak directly to the president in response to his wild interview with Maria Bartiromo Sunday, telling Trump, “If I may, Mr. President, the problem here is that you’re not just fighting fraud any more than you were just fighting the Russia hoax. That was an effort, not a hoax, to overthrow your presidency. Not a hoax. An outright effort to overthrow the presidency of the United States that went on from the time you won the office to the time right now. The irregularities in this year’s election are not just fraud, electoral or voter, they are another attempt to overthrow the president of the United States.”
He even echoed Trump’s attacks on the FBI and DOJ — which the president went after for being “missing in action” while casually suggesting maybe they were involved in this scheme.
But that was only the tip of the iceberg, as Dobbs went on to speak to Sidney Powell and actually preface the interview by saying it’s just “the radical left’s narrative” that Biden won the election.
And at one point during the discussion about Georgia, Dobbs said, “You know, people don’t go to jail for their attitude, but in the case of the secretary of state and the governor of Georgia right now, one would be tempted to prosecute based on their conduct so far.”
Powell repeated the claim she made on Newsmax that it “seems that” both the governor and secretary of state received “significant benefits” for approving a contract for Dominion. She set up that claim by saying, “We’ve gotten tips from different people that we haven’t been able to verify completely yet.”
As Dobbs wrapped the interview with Powell, he said Trump needs to take “dramatic action” on the election and “the crimes that have been committed.”
“And if the Justice Department doesn’t want to do it, if the FBI cannot do it, then we have to find other resources in the federal government,” Dobbs declared. “This is an assault on the core of our democracy.”
Dobbs continued going after the DOJ and FBI in his interview with Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton, accusing them of being “absolutely acquiescent to voter fraud, electoral fraud, and worse, what may be a foreign assault on the country for all we know.”
Dobbs even went after Bill Barr after Fitton said the AG “talks a good game” but doesn’t deliver:
“I don’t think he talks a good game, Tom. I think he’s made a couple of timely statements perhaps, but he doesn’t even talk a good game. He is not involved in a game. This is an attack on the United States, whether it is from enemies domestic or foreign, whether it is both, I don’t know. But I can tell you this: for the Justice Department and the FBI to do nothing in the face of obvious, obvious fraud and the effort to rig elections across this country? This is stupefying.”
He also demanded to know why Republicans aren’t “walking into every state house and saying ‘this will not stand, we’re going to vote again.'”
Dobbs continued to trash Republicans for not doing more to stand up for the president, who he said is receiving “no help” from the “RINOs.”
He spoke to Matt Gaetz — one of the Republicans backing up the president’s fight and asked, “Where in the hell are the Republicans when we’ve got a battle for the White House underway?”
And, of course, Dobbs even railed against the “deep state” as he told Jason Chaffetz, “The Democrats and the deep state this time have put it in our faces. They have said, you know, ‘We’re going to do this, and you’re going to watch us, and you’re going to see us, and you can’t do a damn thing about it because, you know why? Your leaders won’t do a damn thing about it.’ And they’re right.”

Trump Campaign Lawyer Joe diGenova Says Fmr DHS Official Chris Krebs Should Be ‘Taken Out at Dawn and Shot’
Trump campaign lawyer Joe diGenova indulged in an outrageous, reckless call for violence on Newsmax, telling host Howie Carr that former DHS Cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs should be “taken out at dawn and shot” for daring to debunk the absurd election conspiracies being pushed by President Donald Trump.
During a call-in interview with Carr on Monday, diGenova ran through some of the Trump legal team’s transparently false — and increasingly fruitless — attempts at stopping the inexorable inauguration of President Joe Biden in January.
DiGenova, notably, has a long history of pushing baseless conspiracy theories and incendiary political rhetoric on cable — and he delivered on that track record with Carr, when the host asked about possible Trump election lawsuits in Virginia.
“We know there were some statistical anomalies in Virginia, like we’re in a lot of other places,” diGenova claimed, before attacking mail-in balloting, sans evidence, as “corrupt.”
“Anybody who thinks that this the election went well, like that idiot [Chris] Krebs, who used to be the head of cybersecurity,” diGenova continued, attacking the former DHS official who was summarily fired by Trump via Tweet after Krebs dared to debunk the president’s many deranged voter fraud claims and instead rated the 2020 election the “most secure” in the nation’s history.
“The guy who as on 60 Minutes last night,” Carr said, commiserating.
“That guy is a Class A moron,” diGenova spat out in disgust, before offering up two different ways Krebs could be executed that was noticeably devoid of sarcasm. “He should be drawn and quartered, taken out at dawn and shot.”
Carr’s response to calling for the death of a public official whose only crime was to publicly disagree with the president? A few sympathetic chuckles, before he matter-of-factly moved on to his next question.
But diGenova’s violent rhetoric comes at a fraught time, as several state-level officials around the country have received death threats for not buying into the Trump campaign’s false narrative about widespread fraud. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, also a Republican, called out his party for not standing up to the “wild mob” of pro-Trump conservatives threatening public officials who are just doing their jobs.

“I worked hard with a singular focus—to save lives and help Americans through this pandemic,” Atlas wrote, adding that he “always relied on the latest science and evidence, without any political consideration or influence.”
Atlas came under serious criticism during the pandemic for his views on issues like masks, to the point where even Dr. Anthony Fauci made a point of publicly saying he has serious disagreements with Atlas.

Trump Attacks Arizona’s Republican Governor for Certifying Election Results: ‘What Is Going On?’
President Donald Trump publicly attacked the Republican governor of Georgia for certifying his state’s election results, and now he’s similarly attacking the Republican governor of Arizona.
Joe Biden won the state of Arizona — and multiple reports have made clear that Fox News calling that state for Biden on election night set off a whirlwind of fury from the Trump team.
After Ducey certified his state’s results, Trump went after him, continuing to push his baseless voter fraud claims and saying, “What is going on with @dougducey? Republicans will long remember!
Why is he rushing to put a Democrat in office, especially when so many horrible things concerning voter fraud are being revealed at the hearing going on right now. @OANN What is going on with @dougducey? Republicans will long remember! https://t.co/XILGaHcyw7

He also liked a tweet saying Ducey betrayed the people of his state:

Sean Hannity Tells Sidney Powell Trump ‘Needs to Pardon His Whole Family and Himself’ Before Leaving Office in January
Sean Hannity urged President Donald Trump to issue blanket pardons for both himself and all of his family members before he leaves office in January, to protect them over any possible crimes that they committed during his four years in the Oval Office.
On the Monday edition of his radio show, Hannity complained to pro-Trump lawyer and election fraud conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell that the incoming Biden administration was being publicly encouraged to investigate and prosecute Trump for any criminal misconduct while he was president.
Six months ago, notably, Hannity offered his own vocal endorsement of Trump investigating his White House predecessor during an interview with Mediaite. In that discussion, he affirmed that he wanted the Trump Justice Department to probe both Obama and Biden about the so-called unmasking scandal — which turned out to be a huge nothingburger — and intimated that it was tantamount to a “criminal conspiracy.”
Hannity kicked off his discussion with Powell by railing against the Russia election interference investigation conducted by the FBI and Special Counsel, and asked about Trump’s recent pardon of her client, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the president’s first national security advisor, who twice pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
She called the move “bittersweet,” noting that “not everybody can get a presidential pardon.”
“Well that’s a good point,” Hannity replied. “I watched [former Justice Department deputy and 2019 House impeachment adviser] Andrew Weissman come out and literally say Biden’s AG needs to go after Donald Trump. I’m like, the President out the door needs to pardon his whole family and himself because they want this witch-hunt to go on in perpetuity, they’re so full of rage and insanity against the President.”
“I assume the power of the pardon is absolute and that he should be able to pardon anybody that he wants to?” Hannity added.
“It is absolute it’s in the Constitution,” Powell confirmed, adding a caveat that “I don’t know about his authority to pardon himself.”
But she quickly added that such an act of self-exoneration for Trump and his family “should not be necessary.”
That’s because Trump, she claimed in her fanciful version of events, is “going to get another four years in office to finish the job he started.” She then went to list more baseless charges about “massive” election fraud.

Chris Krebs: 95% of 2020 Ballots Were Paper, Showing There Was ‘No Malicious Algorithm or Hacked Software’ That Changed Votes
Chris Krebs, the former director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), spoke to 60 Minutes’ Scott Pelley about the recent election, and explained how the widespread use of paper ballot records gave him great faith in the election’s integrity.
Krebs was famously fired by President Donald Trump over Twitter for the unforgivable sin of releasing a report calling the 2020 election the “most secure in American history.”
Krebs, a lifelong Republican, joined the Department of Homeland Security in 2017, and Trump appointed him to lead the newly-created agency CISA in 2018.
Krebs told Pelley that part of his job entailed “gaming out every possible scenario for how a foreign actor could interfere with an election,” and they had worked through “countless, countless scenarios.”
One of the major priorities for Krebs was encouraging the increased use of paper ballots.
“Paper ballots give you the ability to audit, to go back and check the tape and make sure that you got the count right,” said Krebs, calling paper ballots “really one of the keys to success for a secure 2020 election.”
Krebs explained that 82% of the ballots used in the 2016 presidential election had a paper record associated with them. In 2020, that figure increased to 95%.
“And with a paper record, you can go back and verify what the machine is saying by physically counting the paper?” asked Pelley.
“That gives you the ability to prove that there was no malicious algorithm or hacked software that adjusted the tally of the vote,” replied Krebs, pointing to the results in Georgia, where the hand recount of the paper ballot records was “consistent” with the vote count as tabulated by the machines.
“And that tells you what?” asked Pelley.
“That tells you that there was no manipulation of the vote on the machine count side,” said Krebs, and “pretty thoroughly, in my opinion, debunks some of these sensational claims out there — that I’ve called nonsense and a hoax, that there is some hacking of these election vendors and their software and their systems across the country. It’s– it’s just– it’s nonsense.”
Krebs made similar comments on Twitter, noting that the “proof is in the paper ballots,” and how their results were verified because “every canvass, audit, or recount conducted by hand has been consistent.”
“Can’t hack paper,” tweeted Krebs.

Trump Rages Against 60 Minutes Interview With The Elections Security Director He Fired: Election ‘Was Probably Our Least Secure EVER!’
On Sunday evening, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Chris Krebs, the former director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) who President Donald Trump fired after Krebs put out a statement that the 2020 election was the “most secure in American history,” and unsurprisingly, Trump was unhappy about it — and made sure to tweet about it.
CBS had released a preview of Krebs’ interview earlier, and the full segment ran Sunday, with Krebs addressing a series of the baseless claims of election fraud made by the Trump campaign, methodically debunking them one-by-one.
Just like how he fired Krebs by Tweet, the president took to the social media network to air his grievances once again, railing against 60 Minutes‘ “ridiculous, one sided story on election security,” which he called an “international joke.” Trump also complained that they had not asked his campaign for comment and called the election “probably our least secure EVER!”
.@60Minutes never asked us for a comment about their ridiculous, one sided story on election security, which is an international joke. Our 2020 Election, from poorly rated Dominion to a Country FLOODED with unaccounted for Mail-In ballots, was probably our least secure EVER!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 30, 2020
So far, Krebs has not replied to Trump’s latest tweeted insult, but he did post a few tweets of his own earlier in the day, noting that the various states’ canvasses, recounts, and audits were proof that the election result was legitimate. “[E]very canvass, audit, or recount conducted by hand has been consistent,” wrote Krebs. “Can’t hack paper.”
Fact Check: Even if the nonsense claims of hacked voting systems and tallies were true – they’re decidedly NOT & ppl propagating the claims are doing democracy great harm – every canvass, audit, or recount conducted by hand has been consistent. Can’t hack paper. #WeArePerseus
— Chris Krebs (@C_C_Krebs) November 28, 2020
Re-upping: Even if “massive [ballot] dumps” (I can’t believe I just typed that) were true, the subsequent canvass, audit, and/or recount processes would have identified inconsistencies. And yet the outcomes were consistent in GA, WI, PA., etc. The proof is in the paper ballots. https://t.co/K723cd56ei

An Unexpected Covid Side Effect: People Leaving Bad Reviews for Scented Candles Because They Can’t Smell Them
One telltale side effect of a Covid-19 infection is a loss of taste and smell, and during this pandemic year, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of complaints on shopping sites by customers unhappy that they cannot smell their scented candles.
A number of Twitter users noticed the situation, and several even analyzed the data.
There are angry ladies all over Yankee Candle’s site reporting that none of the candles they just got had any smell at all. I wonder if they’re feeling a little hot and nothing has much taste for the last couple days too.

Petrova noticed that the reviews were relatively stable from January 2017 to January 2020, but then “there was a sharp drop between January and November 2020.”
First, I downloaded a random subsample of US-based customer reviews of the 3 most popular scented candles on Amazon. Between January 2017 and January 2020, the average rating stayed around 4.3/5, but there was a sharp drop between January and November 2020. 2/n pic.twitter.com/kpCRZ1StKZ

In contrast, reviews for unscented candles didn’t show the same decline.

Petrova also found that there was a slight uptick in the number of the negative reviews mentioning a lack of scent.
Since the beginning of this year, the proportion of reviews mentioning lack of scent grew from < 2% in January to close to 6% in November. These numbers may not seem like much, but the trajectory of no-scent reviews over the last 11 months is certainly an interesting one 7/n pic.twitter.com/K5wEuM0boo

Trump Still Won’t Concede, But Reportedly Plotting to Steal Spotlight from Biden’s Presidency — Including Announcing 2024 Run During Inauguration
President Donald Trump still refuses to concede that he lost the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden, but while he will be evicted from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on January 20, 2021 (willingly or unwillingly as it may be), there’s one thing he won’t relinquish: the cozy warm glow of the media spotlight.
According to a report by Asawin Suebsaeng at The Daily Beast, Trump has been chatting with his inner circle about running for president again in 2024, and he’s growing increasingly serious about the idea. Three sources described as “familiar with the conversations” told Suebsaeng that Trump had even started discussing how he might like to launch this new campaign.
One idea that came up was to declare himself a 2024 candidate on Biden’s Inauguration Day, an aggressively thunder-stealing bit of counter programming that may portend Trump’s intentions for the next few years.
Trump reportedly has bragged that he expects to be able to maintain his place in the spotlight because the media knows he is good for ratings and they find Biden to be “boring.”
Even if Trump doesn’t run again in 2024, or does but waits a bit longer to make an official announcement, the prospect of a live Trump rally for any purpose scheduled at the same time as Biden is being sworn in as America’s forty-sixth president seems unlikely to derail the networks’ plans to show the inauguration live, but Trump would probably get some airtime immediately before or after.

Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger and Wife Are Getting Death Threats — And His Republican Colleagues Won’t Say Peep to Defend Him
Brad Raffensperger is a lifelong Republican who spent several years in the Georgia legislature before being elected Georgia secretary of state in 2018, so you might think that if he were getting death threats, his fellow Peach State Republicans might defend him. You might think that, but you would be wrong.
As Raffensperger and his wife Tricia told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, supporters of President Donald Trump are furious with him over the November 3 election, where President-elect Joe Biden won the state. As early returns came in on Election Night, Trump was initially ahead but the race narrowed and then ultimately went for Biden due to his stronger performance with early and mail voting.
Raffensperger has been the target of Trump’s oft-tweeted ire for his role in encouraging mail-in voting — a decision he made due to the coronavirus pandemic — along a number of other baseless accusations that he was somehow engaging in election fraud. Raffensperger’s well-established Republican bona fides and the fact that he voted for Trump have been little help to fend off the attacks.
January’s looming double runoff with Republican Senators David Perdue and and Kelly Loeffler defending their seats against John Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock has ratcheted the tension even higher. Undoubtedly concerned about keeping the mercurial president on their side, Perdue and Loeffler have joined Trump’s attacks that Raffensperger is running a “fraudulent system,” even writing a letter accusing him of some sort of undefined election “failures” and demanding he resign.
Raffensperger is not going to resign, but Perdue and Loeffler’s letter was the triggering point for he and his wife to start getting death threats, he told the AJC.
He and his wife described the threats as starting out as “a warning” but soon escalating into “horrific” and graphic threats of sexual violence.
“It’s vulgar,” said Raffensperger, who has had to hire round-the-clock security. “It’s disgusting.”
Patricia Murphy, the AJC politics reporter who interviewed the Raffenspergers, tried to get a comment from Republican legislators — many of whom served at the same time as Raffensperger and have known him for years.
“Multiple requests for comment to Republican lawmakers who have supported him in the past were declined or not returned,” wrote Murphy, noting that one did tell her “I’ll take a pass.”
Georgia’s secretary of state and his wife have become the target of vile, even sexualized, death threats.
Asked about those threats, the GOP lawmakers who once supported Raffensperger won’t comment now. “I’ll take a pass,” said one.https://t.co/ZsaKZEq7ZE
