Sean Hannity labeled 28-year-old self-declared socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – who ousted 10-term Rep. Joe Crowley of New York in a shocking primary election upset – the face of the Democratic party.

“The Democratic Party is falling apart,” Hannity said on his show Wednesday night. “Last night a 28-year-old socialist from New York defeated long time Democratic incumbent in a congressional primary race.”

“And many are hailing Cortez as a rising star on the political landscape,” Hannity continued, “but in reality, her views, her policy positions are actually downright scary.”

Hannity aired a graphic of Cortez’s platform, declaring, “this is your modern Democratic party.” The platform included support for Medicare for all, solidarity with Puerto Rico, housing as a human right, gun control, immigration justice and abolishing ICE.

After airing a clip of Cortez voicing her support for impeachment, Hannity remarked: “The only difference between the self-proclaimed socialist that you just saw and the rest of the Democratic party is: she’s actually more honest.”

“This is the single most important midterm election of our lifetimes,” Hannity concluded. “Do you really want these people leading the country?”
